This. Word. I don't like how conservative we were in the second-to-the-last possession, but there is little to criticize in the final possession.

It's very debatable if giving them 55 yards to get 3 is any different than 80 yards to get 7. The reality is the defense, sans 4-5 starters couldn't get it done.

I think there is a great deal of difference here in the 55 yards to get 3 and the 80 yards to get 7. Detroit had 1:24 on the clock to score a TD and they used all but :12 of it. If you leave them with :30 down by 6 and no TOs, I don't think they can come back and get a TD. FG perhaps but that doesn't do anything for you.

Probably the coaches felt he was less of a risk to fumble the ball. It was an obvious running down and Randle's a rookie and Dunbar has a history of fumbles.

Also, he's the most effective inside runner we have, with Murray out.
