I'm not saying it wasn't an honest mistake, but I do think it was a mistake that they never really addressed the weaknesses of that scheme while it was here. We were never really able to stop the pass.

Couldn't stop the pass in the Parcells era or the Wade era either.

We got 'pretty good' at it, but not dominant at it, even for a season.

I think even if we committed to the 3-4, we would have problems because the NFL has adapted to it. I would rather see us switch to the 4-3 which I think is more favorable at this point of time because of the design of offenses and most of the teams are 3-4 defenses so that tightens up the talent pool.

I don't know, didn't stop the Ravens, Bills, Texans, or 49ers from putting together good defenses.

I do think the move to the 4-3 will help us move towards we need to go, but I think the Cowboys never really committed to what it takes to putting together a premium defense. It takes constant attention and resources. Not drafting tight ends in the 2nd round to sit behind your pro bowl, potentially hall of fame tight end, not once, not twice, but three times.
