The refs finally helped us out

I'm talking about this team and this coaching staff.

I thought we caught a break on the int of Campbell. I thought Ware was off-sides.

He wasn't. I watched the replay frame-by-frame, and he just timed it perfectly.

However, he's so good at that, he has been flagged for being offside even when he wasn't offside.

On the TD play, Kosier should have been called for inelligble man downfield. He threw a cut block two yards downfield before Tony threw the ball. He obviously thought Tony was going to run it, but he didn't and the refs missed it.

Maybe the ref thought the 9-yard line was the line of scrimmage, because that's where we originally had first-and-goal.

And Gurode snuck all the way down to the 6.

Wow, I cant believe the refs missed that. Maybe the refs felt bad for raping us last week in Lambeau.

Btw, that illegal contact penalty on Jenkins on 3rd down was totally bogus. I slow motioned that play at least half a dozen times and Jenkins jams him exactly 5 yards from the LOS. That was perfectly legal and it should of been 4th down for the Skins.

Yeah, they have. If you look at 2 of the 3 losses, absolutely garbage officiating played a major role in the loss. And even in the game where we beat Pitt in 1995, the officiating was incredibly biased towards Pittsburgh.

I don't believe in makeup calls but I do agree that Campbell should have been called for intentional grounding if we are talking about the same play.

Well, the Commanders had a lineman past the line of scrimmage on the play when Campbell nearly got sacked, scrambled toward the line then threw the 26-yard pass to Thomas.

Jenkins jammed him 8 yards off the line. The ball was at the 43, and Jenkins jammed him at the 35.

LOL. I was just waiting for Buck to say, "but there's a flag on the field". I'm not sure if he was offsides or not, but he was close and has been flagged for that same play many times before.

And yes, we certainly caught a break on the TD pass. Watching the replay, the OL is clearly 2-3 yds in beyond of the LOS and the ref is right there. He had to see it. Phew!!

I didn't notice that until I saw it on ESPN this morning. The reff was looking right at it. Very suprised it didn't get called as well.

OMG, me too. I couldn't believe it when it wasn't called whether it was or wasn't it looked like it.

That is technically correct, but that would be a ticky-tack call. Kosier is very close to the 1 yard barrier and also engages a defender.


That was, however, a very poorly officiated game evidence by the end of the first half and the crew not knowing the rules for a booth challenge. Alberto Riveron should not have been promoted because that is not the first time I have witnessed confusion from his crew about a situation. I'm sure there was a better candidate to be bumped up.
