This ^^^. It’s exhausting watching how often fans think the NFL has some vast conspiracy to predetermine games through referees. And equally amazing how easy it is for people to believe in a conspiracy rather than just accept things as they actually happen.
It's also easy to walk away from the conspiracy when you spend the game saying "the fix is in" then it turns out you were wrong. Just pretend you never said it. :muttley:

So as I was reading threads, it suddenly occurred to me.. this is probably Brady's last hurrah, and surely the league will not want a 1 and done for the GOAT. As such, I'm expecting us to be heavily penalized, including some holding-that's-not-normally-a-hold late in the 4th if it's close.

I'm going to make an over/under at 9.5 penalties. I'm going to take the over. What say you?
Brady aint retiring dude, he literally divorced his wife over going back to football.

Dude is going to be playing until he is 50.

I say who actually cares if Brady goes one and done or not?

I've never understood why people think the league cares about Tom Brady at this point, and would knock out their biggest ratings boosting team just so that he can make it to the second round of the playoffs?
Cowboys are the most watched team
Period.
America's team , baby!

Tom Brady? Um, no.

The Dallas Cowboys are always the draw. Period.

Just to add to your point, 4 of the top 5 were Cowboys games.
So, yes, if there were a ratings conspiracy, Dallas would be in
the SB every year... lol

Oh God...
It's going to be Hochuli Jr., isn't it?
WE'RE DOOOOOOOOOOMED!!!!!
I dont agree with the conspiracy theories that officials favor certain teams.

However, I do have an issue with the quality of those officials who were hired due to nepotism/family connections. I dont think they are as good as those who have done it the hard way working their way up through the ranks via being excellent officials at higjh school then college football.

TB should aim for the one to ten yard line on kick-offs. Turpin isn’t returning squat and, even if he did, someone on the return team would be called for a block in the back. Yes, every time. Half the distance to the goal. Yea, poor field position.
Okay that is actually a really good idea that I hope TB doesn't use. You're dead on accurate with the no return threat and holding or block in the back. Let's go ahead a keep this between us and no other special teams coaches.

I’m amazed we can’t have a discussion about the possibility of a ref being biased without making it a conspiracy talk.

A ref once grabbed a guy trying to legally block Brady. I’d guess there’s some form of hero worship, bias, etc, but yea, I can’t prove it.

How can you say that with a straight face? They've done it before. They'd do it again. All of the no hold calls on our defenders as they ride our guys into the ground? Green Bay got away with that in the playoffs against us TWICE....so yeah, they'd happily knock their biggest ratings boosting team out.

It’s not his last go. He’s going to be a Raider, Niner, or Dolphin next year.
Unless Tua’s brain is mush from all the concussions I’d be surprised if he ended up in Miami. And Niners seem set. I’d say Oakland with his former OC makes most sense.

The Dolphins tried like heck to get him last year, Tua is more questions than answers. If the Phins get another chance at Brady the take it.

If you think Brock Purdy makes a team set then ok. I think 32/32 teams would rather have Tom Brady for 2 years than Brock Purdy though. Niners would easily take TB12 for the next two years and have Purdy under him.

Raiders obvious yeah

Playoff football generally has less penalties and is more enjoyable to watch, so I say under.
normally??:banghead: you must have, missed the 14 last year against us , bet that was close to a record..and the lazy ref not getting back to set the ball..no coincidence here.

The 49ers also have Trey Lance who they invested the 3rd overall pick on. He’s the future not Purdy. But it’s the NFL so who knows. Hell I’d take TB here in a hot second to try and win us one.

Yeah I feel that, I just think that Lance is so raw and the roster is so good that if they get Brady in they are NFC favorites by far and right up there with the AFC heavyweights for SB favorites. You swallow that Lance pick with no issue if it means a SB with Brady. Plus Lance and Purdy both learn from the GOAT.

Kinda crazy that their roster is so stacked even with giving up all those assets to get Lance and him not panning out yet. Elite organization roster building.
