We have the 32nd rated running back room in the NFL and I'm guessing we're ranked 32nd as far as interior DL as well. Our moron owner went on the radio and said how huge a pick up Elliott was. Not a good combo and then you factor in the fact that every football guy in the world can see how dumb and stubborn our owner is...and welp here we are.

We are stuck in groundhog Day the front office continues in the same vein and we continue to fail in the same way............Yes
and it will continue.
We all knew hiring elliot back was a mistake, that was done to please jerry and dak, they both wanted him back.
There are other issues with out run game though, blocking schemes, play design, play calling, all that matters. It is not just the RB's.

As for teams running on them there are more issues than just a DT. NO was running to the edges, right and left that has nothing to do
with DT play.
It all comes down to the coaches we have from HC on down.

parsons said zimmers scheme is good, the players just ALL played bad lol. How is that possible why would they all play bad?
Doesnt make sense. They probably thought after beating cleveland that they were great and just need to show up and play to win
no effort or planning, or innovations required ??
There are many things wrong with the cowboys lol.

Jerry already said it would be fixed !! lol So the great one, best GM in the world has spoken so no worries ! lol
Totally agree Don the coaching staff has always been designed around making Jerry comfortable not ever about hiring the best minds in football.
McCarthy like Zeke is serviceable in some aspects but past his prime in the big picture as he is unable on a yearly basis to prepare us for playoff football.

I agree we have a lot of problems but it would have been nice to use that second round pick on one of our weakest areas instead of stockpiling another tight end that we didn't need.

They're just aren't enough quality draft picks out there to waste any especially since we don't participate in free agency to fill any holes

This is all true brother and we are going to face some teams coming up in the not-too-distant future that look like they can run the ball pretty well

Barclay for the eagles and Robinson for the falcons both look like they are going to punch Us in the mouth the 49ers can always run the ball and then we have the Lions in there none of this looks good for us.
We better hope we can at least beat the Giants and Steelers .

Worst RB room.
Worst DT group.

They got lucky last week playing a team without both starting tackles.
Bottom 10 LB room
S’s are middle of the league at best (average)
WR’s are bottom 1/2 of the league (below average)
O-Line is middle of the league (average)

When you’re being honest and ignore the star on the helmet this team just isn’t very good overall.

This team is weak up the middle on both sides. Can’t win like that.

You’re not wrong.

The truth is. The cowboys are in the middle of rebuilding the offensive line and it’s not done yet because Martin is going to be retiring soon. A lot of young talent but this ain’t the 2016 line. Far from it.

They also have trash at RB.

Our DT group may legit be one of the worst in The league. It’s that bad.
Same with our RBs. And yet the fans expect the Cowboys to win. And keep in mind, the two biggest weaknesses we had last year were running the football and stopping the run and the two key positions to help fix those problems are now our worst talent-wise.

No worries though. Jerry told us yesterday that they were going to fix this.

I feel like a broken record if you can't stop the run and you can't run the ball you are going to fail.

It's a golden rule of football.

We are stuck in groundhog Day the front office continues in the same vein and we continue to fail in the same way.

If we get ahead we use the pass rush or strength and blow teams out.

If teams are smart enough to punch Us in the mouth and run the ball we get blown out.

Am I missing something or didn't we watch this all play out last year.

I forgot how many tight ends we had when we drafted spoon maker but wouldn't it have been nice to have drafted a running back who may have sparked a running game for a defensive tackle that may have been able to stop the other teams.

This will be the same up and down roller coaster ride as last year and there is no fix in sight
Yeah after the first game i was fooled. I know browns had a good defense last season. Although we only had 100 yards running in that game we looked to be better at stopping it.

Yesterday not so much. The first series we put up a fight. After that we just got shredded. Teams all have the film on what they did. Not much different than what teams did to us last year.

We need to figure something out. For one I would quit having Parsons rush the qb all the time. A lot of plays he watched go right past him. He needs to be playing the ball. Hope our RB coming in Cook had some tread left and can help make a difference.

It seems like as soon as the team starts to run on them they just look like they don't want to be there.

It's almost like that commercial want to get away.
As soon as the opponent commits to the run game, watch the body language of guys like Diggs and Parsons. They hate playing run defense and it leaves the defense short handed.
