The RIGHT Choice

I was THRILLED to see Choice, once again, produce when given a real oppurtunity.

I do wish they'd given him the ball more though. They went a really long stretch there where they never gave him the ball.

So, how was Choice on Special Teams? JJ is an ***.

Free TC!!!!!! :bang2:

It sounded like a bunch of Bill Parcells b.s.

Put Marion on STs. I'm sick of watching us get ruined by a back, with slow clumsy feet and no burst.

And when you begin the game running the ball, it opens up a lot more for the passing game and the OL.

I agree, Choice, is just a football player who is loaded with heart. I want to see more Choice the rest of the season.
He's only loaded with heart when he has the ball...which is part of the reason he doesn't see the field a lot.

I feel the fans are pretty unfair to MB3 though.

I just don't see him utilized right.

That sounds like what people used to say about Julius. Myself included.

Awsome post and I knew Choice would shine. I knew it and I called it. Jason and Jerry were wrong for calling out a guy who was the least of the problems on this team by a long shot. If they needed to call anyone out, they should have been calling out Ball, Sensabaugh, Leonard Davis, Colombo, and Barber.

The most frustrating thing is we could have gotten this kind of rushing production all year long which may have translated into a couple of more wins than what we have now.

Choice makes plays. He's an outstanding overall running back and the best one we have. He pass protected very well too. This is not a knock on Felix. I really like Felix. He's a great 3rd down back who can make huge plays from anywhere on the field. He's just not a "pound it for 4-5 yards a play, 30 times a game" kind of back.

I'm not surprised this team doesn't see what they have in Tashard Choice. Not surprised at all. It made my day when Aikman and Joe Buck agreed that the special teams excuse for not playing Choice was lame and did not compute. And then kept harping on how he has always earned and deserved the right for significant playing time becasue he's always played very well.

It's unacceptable for Cowboys management to be this poor which is a big part of the reason why they're 4-8.

Today Tashard Choice shut up two of the people who should be on his side, but turned out to be two of his biggest critics. His coach and his owner. People could talk about Felix Jones potential or Barbers past but ill choose the guy who is the durable one of the 3. Who has done it when they didnt have the other 2, and did it against the best defenses in the nfl...Oh yeah and it was his rookie yr. Today the guy flat out outplays the Team favorite and nearly doubles him on yrds per carry. Leads the team on that final drive in overtime.

Wait....How is he going to get playing time now? He didnt play special teams today.

All of you waiting for Felix to be the playmaker on a consistent basis u can keep your hopes. Ill take Choice and the reality that he's just the better RB. He not the better playmaker or the better power runner then the other two. But neither Felix or Barber can run the ball and move the chains like Choice. Choice has nothing else to prove to Garrett or Jerry. If they dont start playing Choice I'd like for Choice to go to another team and start there. Cause the guy is truly a inspirational player.

Garrett and Jerry should be ashamed of themselves for depriving us fans of a real running attack that we saw today. This OL problem doesnt seem to affect Choice the way it does Felix and Barber. Like he said last yr before the cheifs game "we dont need no introduction, we just coming to play".

Cudos to Tashard Choice.

I love the way Choice plays, though I'm afraid the fire and intensity he runs with could go away with a bigger role long term. I mean, Barber used to run with the same kind of single minded nobody is going to stop me purpose that Choice has too, and then it just disappeared.

Either way, he's looking like he has a chance to be the most productive of the 3 backs, and he certainly should be getting all of Barber's carries, if not some of Felix's.

Passblocking, special teams.

When you're #3 on the depth chart - regardless of whether you should be there or not - you're going to have to do the little things. He's not so good that he's going to move up by running alone so he has to work at every aspect of the game.

Rather than whining on Twitter and asking us to pray for him, he should be working on his blitz pickups.

Please get better on Special Teams so we can get some production from our run game.

Jerry's most idiotic comments in recent years...

He played awesome today, I was really happy for him and really impressed with his running.

But I also didn't see anything that should make him start over Felix at all. As it is, I love the running attack we have right now.

He did it all today. Let's see how spectacular Felix and Marion are on kickoff coverage. I want Tashard running the ball on my team. And Aikman even commented on his pass blocking being pretty darn good. The special teams excuse was lame and does not (as Aikman said today) compute. And I think Aikman knows a little about football.

Jerry knows all. DON'T QUESTION HIM!

Yes he does! I wish I knew his secret. I mean look at his eyes during an interview these days. It's quite obvious he's actually been dead for the last 10 years.

Why does everybody try to make Jerry's comments about TC this week into something they're not? I don't get the point.

He was pretty clearly talking about the job TC's done in his role as a third RB. He was doing this as a fairly transparent dodge to avoid answering the question about the RB pecking order that kept coming up because of Barber's injury. In that context, he's perfectly right to say that TC has some work to do in his role.

What was much, much more interesting than this twisting-Jerry's-words silliness were Jerry's post-game comments where he said Tashard was about to make the role of a third down running back a moot point based off of the way he played today, because a number two back doesn't need to have the ST dimension.

I'm happy for Choice but if he keeps this up, it's going to confirm in my mind that something is screwed up with how its determined who will get playing time and in my opinion that crap has got to stop!

Yep. I can't believe there are still people who don't think Jerry and contracts dictate playing time for a few guys on the team.

I thought Jones and Choice both played well yesterday. I thought the O-line was pretty average though, and that with improved blocking both backs could've put up monster numbers. 6 plays from the 1 yard line and we have to throw it in. :banghead:

Yep, happy for Tashard after the unfair comments made by Jerry this week

Funny, don't know if you guys talked about it, but in the pregame Kristi Scales said Jerry pretty much admitted he shouldn't have said those things about Tashard, and apologized.

You just wonder why JG has been so committed to Barber when it was clear he wasn't special anymore (if he ever really was).

I guess Joe D and Garrett must be the arses because that obviously had to be where that feedback to Jerry was coming from. Here are some trick questions for you? Who pulled the trigger on acquiring Tashard Choice through the draft and who commented this and last year that Tashard Choice had Emmit Smith like attributes?

Tashard Choice has had blocking issues and Barber has been the best out of the running back trio. That was also Tashard Choice who couldn't make a dent in that two series in a row goal line stand against the Colts.

You think the Oline had a little bit to do with the run sputtering because of its substandard blocking ability. I do. And who are the blockers helping out our substandard Oline. Tight ends and running backs that's who.

Tashard Choice unquestionably is a darn good running back. When this Oline gets refortified he and Felix will be even bigger playmaking power-houses. Even Barber's performance will improve IF he is around.

Why does it take a injury to figure out that the guy on the bench is better than the starter?
