This is different and interesting. Seems like we have some rest advantages. Interesting embedded video
OoCC - you've got your LA teams sort of mixed up.Remember when Jerry wanted Dallas to be the Texans first opponent. We played them week one of their inaugural season, IIRC.

Maybe there is something to this Jerry power slash influence thing.
The guy had a know-it-all attitude during his days at ESPN when talking about the NBA.Bill Simmons is a giant DB. For him to even whine means the Patriots must not have a lot of “rest”.
No one knows what the schedule will present until the season unfolds. I’m glad Dallas doesn’t have to play back to back Thursday games but they do have two of them. Maybe that is an advantage. Maybe not. Too much other stuff factors into the schedule including injuries, suspensions, weather, Covid, etc. to know which team benefits.

Back to back Thursday games is probably better than staggered Thursday games. The former means only adjusting to the rest time once, then a full week between games, whereas the latter means adjusting twice, unless the non-Thanksgiving Thursday game butts up to the bye week.Bill Simmons is a giant DB. Yeah I knew it was SoFi stadium, but me being lazy didn't want to look up how to spell SoFi. Never really paid attention to the spelling.OoCC - you've got your LA teams sort of mixed up.
The Rams returned to Los Angeles with the 2016 season; their first game back in the Memorial Coliseum was hosting the Seahawks.
Four years later, the Cowboys did go out to LA and played the Rams in the inaugural game at the new SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers moved to Los Angeles for the 2017 season and played at the then-named StubHub Center. Their first home game was against the Dolphins.
Three seasons later, the Chargers joined the Rams in moving to SoFi...but their inaugural home game at the new venue was against the Chiefs.
But the Cowboys did go out to SoFi last season for the Chargers home opener.
And as far as that game at Houston--- the Cowboys loss resulted in an expansion team winning their inaugural game/ inaugural home game for the first time since the Vikings did it in 1961.
There won’t be any excuses if the Cowboys lose those games. They’ve had plenty of rest advantages over their opponents only to show up looking flat and unprepared.
Explain how they “bias the data?”
I really dislike this guy Bill is interviewing. He seems to latched on to some very small data point, claimed to be the only one who noticed it (lie), and tries to make a buck off it. He then claims that playing the Thursday after Thanksgiving was a benefit for the Cowboys when it was clearly a negative. He another stupid guy trying to make a buck off the name of the Dallas Cowboys.
Yep.. and because somebody posted that garbage here we are helping him do so. Any claim that the whole 4 games in 19 days schedule was somehow beneficial to the Cowboys is an asbolute joke. The reason they take 7 days off between football games is because the body takes such a beating during a game it needs it. Any time they play on less than one week's rest is a negative for any person and any team. For older guys even a full 7 days is usually not enough. After about age 30 or so the body has not fully recovered from the previous game when they suit up for the next one.
May be the league thinks to play the boys , you dont need much preparation, they are predictable! Wait … that was during the Garett days , Correct ???Cowboys will play 6 games against teams who have less than a week to prepare for them.
No other team has more than 4 this season.
Do you always have to be so dramatic? My goal isn’t to post garbage. People that know me, know that. It’s here for consumption in the off season. There are data points to everything and people here claiming we anyways get screwed with schedules, refs etc. This is just another discussion point. BTW his points may not be perfect but he’s not fudging the schedule to show rest. It’s in black and white.

Sorry brother but I disagree. I believe the cumulative effects of the compressed slate of games is harder on the body than having to do the Thursday turnaround twice within a 4-6 week span. Doing the Thanksgiving day game followed by 10 days rest and a few games with 7 days rest before doing that turnaround again is IMHO much less taxing on the body than. Think of it terms of a cut being opened on Sunday. By Thursday it may have a scab but it certainly is not healed. You go out on Thursday and rip the scab off again.. So by the following Thursday it's healed up a little more but still not 100% and you go and rip the scab off again. That elongates the healing process .. On the flip side if you get that cut on Sunday and then go out and beat it up on Thursday and THEN take 10 days before going out and beating up on it again that cut is MUCH farther down the road to healing by that next Sunday.. And if you have 7 days off in between for the next several weeks it has a chance to be pretty close to completely healed before you are asked to play another game on 4 days rest.
