The Romo Problem

:laugh2:On EPSN just now they were talking about Romo. Their complaint...his TD pass to Miles. So there you go. There's the problem. I've never in my life seen someone criticized like this.

I don't deal with ESPN and their comments.

I do see them, and in some sense agree at times.

I also am not a fan of any other team and therefore watch the telecasts and comments about their quarterbacks.

I'd imaging except for the ones who have won a SB or look like they are leading their teams that direction - the Atlanta QB comes to mind -all comments on all quarterbacks are similar.

My intention here was not articulated well.

I think Romo has elevated his mind to the final stage of the maturation process and he sees it to the degree all the greats do.

But I question the players surrounding him having even enough rudimentary understanding to play the game the way he does.

He still throws picks at times. Mostly because of the WR being in the wrong place.

He is not as accurate as I would like. His amazing days are less than his average days it seems.

But the guy is in another stratosphere when it comes top understanding what he sees, what the defense is trying to hide, and where he needs to go to beat that defense.

The intelligence of the team holds him back, is my opinion.

This.

Outside of Dez, they all can't be stupid. It's coaching. Romo is a vet, but this team needs to be sharp. It's been 6 years with the same offense. Austin, Otree, and Dez are vets now. Get on the page or get off! it's pathetic really.

Everything would indicate coaching, but you have to look at a little more closely.

-We have had the same stupid mistakes with Red J, Wade, and the Tuna

-If Tony knows what to do based on reads, why cant any of the other players do the same after all this time? Its clear that Tony gets it. Coaching has worked for him. Why cant the rest of the players get it? I cant believe that over a period of time which included 3 HC's that all of the coaching can be that bad. No matter what we think about Red J or Wade, these guys are NFL coaches. You can bet that anyting we fans pick up on they do as well. They have to be working on this all the time.

-As a team, there is no progression of progress with the process. 2 steps forward, then 2 back. 2 more back then 2 forward. Its a cycle. Players have to get it at some point. They dont seem to ever show any consistent progress. The coaches have to be working on this stuff all the time.

Bottom Line: we may have some bad coaching, but how can it be that bad? Im thinking more and more all the time the players are a big part of the problem. You just cant fix stupid.
