I didn't start a thread saying "The Commanders have won more playoff games this decade than the Cowboys"

My post is simply a response to a ridiculous argument.

It's all about winning the superbowl and neither team has done that. I'm glad that Gibbs took the Seahawks lost with class and didn't proclaim that the best team lost though.

It does seem fitting that a team that likes to call itself "America's team" also has a coach that makes a statement like "the best team lost". Arrogance at it's best.

Remember that '04 Mon Night game we played at FedEx? He started whining to the press how the officials blew 2 PI calls that lead to TDs for us.

A little different. If you complain about blown calls and write the league to review them it actually serves a purpose. The league does review the calls if a team requests it.

I don't think Gibbs should have publicly blasted them but that's a lot different than saying "the better team lost".

WRONG! Blaming the officiating crew is also part of the sportsmanship aspect of it too, regardless. When you blame the officials, it's no different from saying "the better team lost" b/c either way, you're not giving the other team credit. And in case you didn't know it, the league will go at lengths to fine players and coaches for doing so.(i.e. Samari Rolle after the Ravens lost to the Pats)

A bad team can have bad calls against it. If they do it doesn't automatically make them the better team.

"You can put what you want (in the newspaper), but anytime you make 336 yards and they make 230, and you outgain them rushing (154 to 90) like we did, and you hold the ball for 36 minutes, most of those games we win."


So, besides some critical drops/mistakes by Crayton and the penality by Reeves, an admitted bad call by the refs and some untimely penalities, who would you think was the better team?

Commander logic...all through this offseason is going to be worse than losing the game!

Wade showed up with a team that wasn't ready to play. Leading up to the game he was criticized for taking a laid back approach near the end of the season. And than the Cowboys show up looking out of form and lackluster. Proving his critics right.

I am sorry but I don't buy into this "winning a playoff game" thing. I mean really, does winning a playoff game mean you are a good team? Its all about the SB and every year 31 teams are in the same position as we are this year. Not SB winners. Only fans who have nothing to cheer about crow over a "playoff win". Sheesh.

I felt worse Sunday than I ever remember feeling after a Cowboy game. Had they won this but lost to the Pack, I don't think it would be as bad, but who knows. I think using their record as a gauge, you have to at least win one playoff game and make it to the NFC Championship game. Seeing improvement and coming through in big games is very important to grow as a team.
