With RW's problems in the secondary, even though he has quite a few INT's, I wonder if Parrish was brought in to let RW play closer to the line of scrimmage.

Just thoughts that have run through my head.

I'd love to be at practice to find out just how they are using him in practice.

Parrish was brought in to let Davis play closer to the bench.

You beat me to it.................:lmao:

Has Killer done anything worthwhile this year.......special teams and on defense?

Why did we not let him go to NO? He would have been much closer to Shreveport, and out of the way of high speed car jackers!

Davis has done quite a bit this year. He's made the team pay him more money. That's what it's all about, after all.

No diisrespect Adam...but in lite of the stats that you've put up as Roy being one of the best safeties in the league over the last few years I would like to know how you would rank him now amonst other safeties.

I.M.O. I think that Roy is a great football player. But I just don't know what to do with him...

I personally feel that we should be playing Roy down in the box exclusively.

We should be taking advantage of his strengths, not sticking him out there to be a liability. We should be playing man to man on the wrs and let Parrish play center field.

Blitz and punish. We will give up some plays, but oh well.

Its's all fantasy but if E. Reed and Roy were playing Safety...

He's without question one of the top three strong safeties, and I'd personally rank him first, ahead of Adrian Wilson and Troy Polamalu. Unlike Roy, both of them frequently are used as nickel linebackers, with two other safeties deep. That helps limit their deep coverage responsibilities and allows them to bliz more easily. It would be nice to use Roy that way, but he's our best cover safety, and we're better off with him deep than another safety.

Lets hope. Keith Davis really does offer nothing. I hate to be negative but, he is really struggling.

if Roy is our best cover safety (i can't tell from network game feeds sorry, but it's not a lock) then the GROZ crew just self-terminated

ROTF.

the bulk of parrish's experience is at strong safety. that makes it difficult for me to get my hopes up.

How long would it take for Parrish to learn the defense? Get him out there ASAP, or start giving Watkins all the reps. Let Keith Davis do what he does best - special teams.

I'm not going to put much hope on a guy who lost his job on the worst defense in the NFL to a career journeyman like Mark Roman.

Its been quite obvious to anyone who's followed this team that heading into last offseason they had a glaring hole at FS, and have for quite some time. Despite the fact that they had ample cap space the Cowboys chose not to address it, or rather believed in a pie in the sky scenario that a 5th round draft pick rookie was going to solve the problem. They even had a gift when a team released a better than average FS like Dwight Smith right before training camp for anyone to sign to a discount price. They were naive and foolish, and now they have to pay the price.
