"Carpenter, who was drafted to play outside but moved inside after it appeared Ellis would be the starter, did play extensively on the outside Sunday after Ellis' injury."

Carpenter was moved inside after Ellis showed so many positive playing the outside position. Could this be the silver lining (putting Carpenter back outside, where he played in college) in all of this? I know it isn't ideal, but sometimes players step up in unlikely situations and do amazing things. Could this give us some redemption for our #1 draft selection? Or am I trying to hard to find some good in all of this?

"Carpenter plays inside mostly (and) I think he has good mental capabilities," Parcells said. "He was basically an outside linebacker in college. He basically played on the left side in college and he did some nickel stuff in college. We've used him in three different places off and on. He started to do a better job on special teams for us which I think is helping his confidence. Obviously he will be a consideration in this move."

Dont forget about that Junior Glymph kid either.

He was excellent in the preseason and if the way he played in those games carrys over it could be a big help.

In losing our MVP on D so far this year doesn't come with a silver lining.

I really hope that Carpenter steps up and takes his place at the table. I've been looking forward to what he can do.

He played LDE exclusively in the 4th quarter (one play in the 3rd). No outside LB at all, that I caught. This is because we ran the nickel exclusively in the 4th.
