You seem to think we will lose to NY.Let's just get that week 1 win and then talk about week 2
LOL... he's had the whole off-season off... how fresh do you want him? With the depth we have at RB, Zeke never was going to be overloaded in a way that would drag him down and not be at his best in the playoffs. I don't buy your premise. The only silver lining I could see is we win without zeke, and then he comes back extra fresh for the remainder of the season and runs harder in the playoffs than he's would have otherwise.
Really sick and tired of folks that claim to be Cowboys fans yet worship at the church of Belichick and Co. Please just go ahead and be honest by admitting your elegance to the Pats. There is nothing wrong with shopping at the NFL bargain bin... even the Pats logo guy wears the Cowboys Star, check it out. This team is far from the Patriots. The Offense the Cowboys has is quite good I believe, but when it comes to Coaching & Front Office Dallas doesn't even come close. Oh, and they also appear completely clueless when it comes to building any type of Defense. But, then again I imagine it's difficult to build anything of quality when your favorite shop is the NFL bargain bin.
My hope rest on Garrett's ability to rally the troops overcoming the culture Jerry has created with the suspended doom and gloom he's brought here.Ok..no more doom and gloom.
We have all these suspensions coming and its hard to be positive..
but here is something to consider..
if this team is going to succeed..
they are going to have to re-group and go forward.
The team is now a team again but they have to show and improve at every snap.
Like last year.
The other good thing is that we have to use our entire backfield now to win.
Not just Zeke.
Heck..last year Tom Brady was suspensed and they found a way to overcome it..
and even win another Lombardi.
Can we do the same..?
Comments welcome.

Zeke needs all the carries he can get. There is no silver lining for him in missing games... not even semi-silver linings. I suspect Friday the Texas judge will approve the RO so Zeke in clear to play beyond week 1 until the suspension ruling is either vacated or ordered to commence. Sunday I expect Zeke run all over the giants and send a message to the rest of the league that he is the top dog.oh I agree, I'm not saying I believe that will be the case, I'm just saying that would be about the only semi plausible scenario.
I agree I think we are fine without Zeke for 6 games. I think DMC is good enough to get us through 6 games. I am curious when Zeke is either back from Suspension or gets the injunction will Morris be cut? Tough to have a 3rd string RB that's not much of a special teams player when your 4th RB in Smith is a good special teams player.Honestly, I think we can make-do without him for 6 games. McFadden and Morris can eat up yards in smaller increments.
So yes, to me the silver lining is that this whole situation rallies the squad together and we have unreal chemistry this season.
Not to infuse the conversation with anything so petty as facts, but our defense gave up the fifth fewest points in the league last year.
Thanks to an incredible display of time of possession by the offense, and a host of terrible offensive teams that we played.
Stats are wildly misleading.
Did you see the pathetic list of quarterbacks and offensive lines the Cowboys played against? There's no doubt that our ball control offense helped the defense, but that's the way this team is built. Any way you want to slice it, the defense gave up the fifth fewest points in the league and that was one of the major reasons we went 13-3. When all is said and done, the only stat that really matters is points scored and points given up. A team can outgain you 2-1 in yardage, but if you put up more points than you give up, you win. Winning is the goal.

What's your point? You play who you're scheduled to play. We also played Aaron Rodgers, Big Ben, (both on the road by the way), etc. Earlier in this thread someone downplayed the defense by mentioning the schedule we played. As I stated in response, do you also down grade our offense based on the schedule we played???? Or does it just apply to the defense????
No, they were beyond terrible. They were embarrassingly terrible. Our defense is by no means great. No one has ever said that. However, they're far from terrible like so many on here seem to think. I think we have the pieces to be a Top 10 defense, but we're young and it's going to take some time, especially in the secondary. But, it will come at some point and hopefully later this year.
Some people simply have a different and positive outlook than you. Try it, you'll like it.Why is it a good thing that we have to use the entire backfield instead of just Zeke?
Zeke is more talented than all those guys combined. Losing him is devastating to the team.
There's no reason to feel good about where this team stands going into the season. Weakened our team strength letting Leary go, a plethora of suspended or soon to be suspended players, a laundry list of injuries and missed time, a safe space camp and preseason following the formula that eliminated them in the playoffs, Prescott's still our starting QB, etc.
