Nothing vanilla about a Spag defense. No turnovers. Would have had a fantastic statline without the drops. He's the real deal.

This team does have a future with Dak and Zeke,,,no doubt.

I was thinking the same thing. Unfortubately, that's about it. Elliot, WRs, and Offense Line were massive disappointments. Play calling continues to be an issue.

Surprisingly, the defense held them to 20, which I think is better than anyone could have hoped.

It would help in the redzone if the receivers catch the ball when they are supposed to. Dez is so inconsistent, horrible game by him he has to show up.

Play calling is and was an issue. Running Elliott all day inside when it was not working. Not playing Morris more. The last drive running Witten into the sun instead of going to the other side of the field. Despite all of this we could have won had it not been for drops and Williams stupidity.

Constant underneath stuff does nothing but shrink the field. Also Linehan is still in love with lets throw a five yard pass when we need 10 and have Wittens athleticism make up the difference.

Morris should have stayed in. But there were a ton of drops, and the run blocking wasn't the greatest overall. But this is about Dak. Smart football, throwing it all over the field to multiple targets, avoiding the rush, etc.

Brandon Weeden's 3 starts in 2015:

22 for 26, 85%, 232 yards, 8.9 avg, 0 TD, 1 INT, 87.8 rating
16 for 26, 62%, 246 yards, 9.5 avg, 1 TD, 0 INT, 105.6 rating
26 for 39, 67%, 187 yards, 4.8 avg, 0 TD, 1 INT, 66.9 rating

lost every game...

Dak's start today

25 for 45, 56%, 227 yards, 5.0 avg, 0 TD, 0 INT, 69.4 rating

We hated Weeden but love Dak.

I thought it was a solid first start but not as good as I would've hoped. Definitely didn't finish inside the red zone.

And people blaming Dez and Beasley are crazy. He threw circus catches to Dez and threw high and behind Beasley on his drops.

Gotta get Dez involved in other ways. I think the game speed has probably got Dak a bit right now in that he doesn't know the difference between college receiver being open and NFL receiver open.

I definitely don't think he looked awful. I've seen 4th round rookie QBs be thrown into a game and you could tell they'd be out of the league by the end of the year. Definitely didn't see that in Dak. But I also definitely didn't see Romo's obvious heir out there like a lot of people are proclaiming. I don't see us doing much better this year with Dak than last year with Weeden and Cassel. Many of the problems I've seen today I've seen the past 10+ years no matter who is QB. And many other problems I've only seen when Romo wasn't playing. Dak didn't play better today than Weeden did last year. That doesn't mean Dak won't be a good QB in the future.

I agree.

As I tried to explain in another thread, Wentz would have had his head handed to him this game.

Stat lines don't tell the whole story, and that Beasely TD drop and the Bryant TD drop were both very catchable balls. Every pass doesn't need to be in the numbers.

I think so, too. We got lucky.

Rough watching some of those plays that were defended or dropped. Dak had a 4-5 wonky throws himself, but overall he played really well, for sure.
