They all toss quarters at the curb? They can't improved as a group? Wrong stats, huh?

3rd year player with injuries and a 2nd year linebacker that got playing experience. Ever been a developmental leader, trained upon those strengths?

Oh, I get it...
'They want to know if they can have their arrows back.''They want to know if they can have their arrows back.'
Excuses after excuses.

My point, if you will take a breath, is that all this inexperience, and a LB past his prime was NEVER going to be an area of strength......but some here said otherwise.

Let this example sink in. The Steelers who already had a LB Corp far superior to our went out and signed Patrick Queen.....we signed old man Kendricks.

This is OK with you, CC?........I want better

Kendricks I think we definitely need back; Liafu frustrated me early on but he learned more discipline and was really looking good the last few games of the season. Clark has been demonized for some bad games but has talent. That injury to Overshown might end his career. ANd he was injured the year before so counting on him right now is not smart.
depending on that they do with micah, we do have some talent there. I personally think we need two more good players in FA and if we can get some help in the draft do it. BUT the key to making this defense into a real D that a contender needs will be the DEFENSIVE LINE.
Well said especially about the DTs......but I've seen enough of Damone at this point. I hope I'm wrong

Let's just buy in....message is only Jerry is too old and players with a healthy positional group. You brag upon the whole group as a whole crap load or akin with Kennedy to protect the health of our youth as a yes man.

Draft class showing merit in Bowl Game:

Oluwafemi Oladejo – LB (UCLA) - Among possibly the strongest position group on Senior Bowl rosters, it was a surprise to see Oladejo jump off the defensive line tape like he did. A converted middle linebacker during his time at UCLA, made the move to full-time edge at the end of his career and showcased his pass rush ability at a high level throughout the week.

Friday's practice was dominated by Oladejo as he set the tone for the entire defensive line unit and was named the defensive line's practice player of the week. You can read about his practice performances in our Day 3 practice notebook. Then, he followed with two sacks in the Senior Bowl

This is a guy that does intrigue me. He reminds me a bit of Byron Young for the Rams (former Vol).

in my opinion you're severely underrating kendricks how about this.... i like to see their age their salary and production stats from 2024 so we can make a real comparison... I'm betting for the money he's probably one of the best on that list the man had a way better stat line than you ever remember because it was such a bad season but when he was on the field wearing the green dot this team was better and most games he showed up and he was an impact player not calling him elite but putting him 10th on this list is a slap in the face I'm betting but without more info not just names and your opinion on how they rank I would like to rank it for myself and I need to see their stats their age what they made last year and what they're gonna demand this year that is very important when you're building a team not just big flashy names like this place loves with the coaching Staffs and the players that's not what it's all about...

With Overshown probably starting the season on PUP. The LB group looks to be a weakness again.
They need to sign a FA and draft one as well. Should sign several FA's. A top LB and a mid tier one.

At a minimum the Cowboys need to bring Kendricks back for another year, likely add another vet and draft one fairly early.

I'd rather have one to many than be one short going into training camp.
I'm hopeful that instead of bringing back Zimmer's linebacker that Eberflus brings in one of his own. Maybe E.J. Speed?

Loser: Mike Solari

It’s hard to envision a way Mike Solari can remain on the staff for much longer. Despite his years of experience, the Cowboys’ offensive line has regressed over the past few seasons. Terence Steele doesn’t look quite right since his season-ending knee injury in 2022, and Solari was tasked with getting a young offensive line going on the right foot. Cooper Beebe fared relatively well, but Tyler Guyton did not. Even though Solari has a relationship with Schottenheimer dating back to their time with Seattle, Adams’ presence on the team pushes Solari into a corner. If your new coordinator can get results from what he had to work with Arizona, imagine what he could do with the prospects in Dallas. Solari isn’t out the door yet, but his standing in Dallas is becoming more tenuous with Adams’ arrival.

Winner: Tyler Guyton

For the Cowboys offense to get back on track in 2025, you get the sense that it’ll be contingent upon how well Tyler Guyton develops. He had a rough rookie year where he was flagged for penalties numerous times and was benched for inconsistency while learning a new position at left tackle. Adams’ reputation as a miracle worker with offensive linemen could be what Guyton needs to get his confidence and start trending his career in the right direction.

This points to outside this site's objectivity.

First, the talent here already, is stronger than what you guys are giving it credit.

Secondly, the staff added WILL improve defensive play.

If you are looking for proof, grab a peach moonshine and smile. It is there, unless you prefer apples.

Winner: Dak Prescott

Prescott has always been an excellent passer attacking the middle of the defense. If Adams’ offense is designed to create hesitation in the defense, expect Prescott to exploit that area of the field. CeeDee Lamb also benefits from this change by being a premier receiver at every level of defense. A healthy Prescott with a potent play-action attack is a formula success in 2025.

What this does now is improve the effects by the defense upon game flow...this doesn't improve the linebackers as well.

No, Jerry isn't just a dumb butt side...

I don't believe that Overshown is a sick, lame, and lazy and will not ride a sick call list. He still is a strong consideration on this positional list. And Parsons is still a strong consideration on this group and how linebackers work. This unit will be using that fact more.

you clearly have no concept of what he is going to have to do to recover from that injury and how long it will take.
Congratulations on now being the #1 homer

Go away, he's not done playing Cowboys and Indians yet.

You can keep your crying and refer to abstract 30 with football...I don't attach to excuses, ONLY. A coward approach.

I'm happy with the Jones owned Cowboys. If you don't, take your lame arse and leave instead of insulting only.

No Sir, insulting at premise... This fan relates more with 'Walking Tall.' Beer or liquor.

Positional rank for 2025 Draft

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/202...tion-luther-burden-ashton-jeanty-tyler-warren

LINEBACKER

  1. Jalon Walker, Georgia
  2. Jihaad Campbell, Alabama
  3. Carson Schwesinger, UCLA
  4. Danny Stutsman, Oklahoma
  5. Chris Paul Jr., Ole Miss
  6. Jeffrey Bassa, Oregon
  7. Jack Kiser, Notre Dame
  8. Barrett Carter, Clemson
  9. Jay Higgins, Iowa
  10. Kobe King, Penn State
Linebacker is another one of the Cowboys offseason roster "needs". With Eric Kendricks potentially leaving via free agency and DeMarvion Overshown 2025 season in jeopardy due to another season-ending injury, drafting one of the Top 10 LBs is a possibility.
Cowboys should trade down from #12 into the mid 20s while securing either a late 2nd round draft pick ... or a 3rd & a 5th round draft picks. Then draft 6'3, 245 lb, 4.50 40 time Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell in the 1st round for our next MLB. He's a stud LB and exactly what the Cowboys need.
