Do you think it was too big of a move for him going from RT in college to LT in the NFL ?

He only played 15 games durung his college career at RT. Its not like he had lot of experience. So picking himwas very very risky.

Moving from RT to LT is not that easy. But the guy has more fundamental problems. Bad footwork, leans way to much, not strong enough, to slow.

After two years in the league you cant use the argument anymore that he was raw and needs time. Guyton is not good and he doesnt seem to put in the necessary work to get better either.

You are right Guyton and Steele are amazing. Dallas wasn't 7-10 last year. #7 in points is just incredible. 17-0 is a real possibility. Guyton is every GM's dream LT.

It's like we just draft willynilly and don't examine anything about draftees. We should've had a vet OLT while Guyton learned the position/game. No way was he even close to ready to play his rook year.

And FWIW, Guyton - 2023: Honorable Mention All-Big 12 Conference. Played in 10 games with nine starts at RT. Missed time due to injury or likely wouldn't have been honorable mention.

Yup. Players such as Ware and Tyron ruin Jerry's drafting. Neither should've been that good right away.

That’s not an easy transition for sure. I think the Cowboys drafted him based mostly on potential more than accomplishment.

He had not had what I would call a “great” college career. His size, athleticism and overall upside was intriguing enough to make him a late first round project. Which is why he was not an immediate hit. We’re hoping year 3 is the magic elixir.

I suspect that Guyton is actually suitable for being a backup, much less a starter at LT. Hopefully, I'm terribly mistaken in that early assessment. It's difficult to picture him as one to make the most of his opportunities to become a consistent performer. I'd honestly be delighted to see him becoming fairly average and nothing more. In the meantime, I'll secretly hope for him to enjoy miraculous success.

Historically excellent. As in right up there with best ever.

He is one of the worst contrasts in combine performance compared to game day performance I have ever seen.
ALL the combine drills that are specific to measuring exact skills for the position show for like a quick second and then he defaults back to this fundamentally off balance lunger of a player.

It's baffling to me how poor he is but his film don't lie.
He is the EXACT opposite of Booker who's combine was one of the worst for a guard in history.
And yet Booker is the perfect example of what a gamer is.
A true game day performer whose skillset defies how poor he showed at the combine.
Such an extreme study in contrasts on the same offensive line no less.
