This is true.
I don't think anyone can claim you're a Moody Blue.

I guess that's why it shocked me a bit to see you spearheading the dislike for this maneuver when it means very little in a negative sense for the team.

Spencer will be just fine. His knee will hold up all season, he will have at least 9 sacks, and he will make 3.5 million this year to add to the 10.5 mil he got last year for doing nothing. He has to feed his family! In the meantime, he can cultivate the locker room and teach the young guys how to get over on Jerry. I love his signing!

Out with the old and in with the new. In this case, out with the old and bring in the same old...nothing.

If he's not ready by game 1, I would just cut him. He can be re-signed if he gets healthy. They have to pay his weekly salary (1/17 of the total) while he is on the PUP.

Good point.

Our training staff should have a good idea about his knee by week 1 and if the knee is totally shredded, they probably will just cut bait at that point.

I appreciate your view on the matter. I don't necessarily agree, but I get where you're coming from.

No reason to argue points- it's been done by various posters over the past 5+ pages already so know that I'm not provoking a debate or argument over this.

Edit: Except for the fact that if he gets paid the full 3.5, he probably did a pretty good job over the entire course of the season. You do realize that most of that money is incentive-based, right? And who cares what he made last year? You hold irrational grudges?

Crud- now it does look like I'm provoking. Sorry man. Stream of consciousness going on here...

I don't agree with your level of hatred towards Spencer, I wanted to sign him to a long term deal after 2011 and 2012, but this deal is not without risk. If he gets cleared to practice and then gets re-injured in Training Camp then Dallas will owe him his salary and have to put him on the IR or reach an injury settlement. There is a strong chance of that happening with his type of surgery. I would have just moved on because these type of re-habs have gone terrible for the team lately. I don't know if it's the medical staff or the players taking advantage of the team, but nagging injuries have turned into season long problems too often around here.

What has Spencer ever done wrong? He got injured?

The dude played hard and very well for us from day 1.

The way some of you talk about our best players makes me question not only your knowledge of the game but also who you are as a person. You talk about Spencer like he is a piece of dirt. Scum who stole money out of your pocket.

Grow up dude.

Great deal for Dallas honestly...

As a 1yr deal, I don't really like it. If they had an option for 2015 it would be better. I don't see him contributing much in the first half of the year and if he adds depth in the second half and plays well, we lose him again in 2015 or have to overpay.
