The Stage Is Being Set

I've yet to see anyone break the ToS. If you post something on a message board, you should expect to get reactions from people who agree with you, and those who don't.

I said nothing about the ToS. I wasn't speaking as a Mod. I was speaking as a poster who would like to see some level of mutual respect return to the board.

Admittedly, I'm down on the Cowboys right now. But if someone wants to be positive and he isn't attacking or calling out other posters in the process, he should be able to do so without incurring excessive amounts of snark...in my opinion.

There is a fine line between being positive and being a homer. When it is crossed one should expect some level of response. No losses remaining on our schedule with the Saints, Bengals, Steelers, Eagles, and Commanders x2?

With the way our offense is playing right now I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to lose to anybody remaining including the Browns. When you can't get the ball in the endzone all it takes is one break for the other team to take the game. We leave almost zero margin for error.

I never suggested you shouldn't respond. I was commenting on the tone of certain responses.

Honestly, this incessant need to draw distinctions between homers and realists and happy fans and negative nancies is juvenile to me.

I don't see how it is possible to respect any opinion that involves this team winning out. It is just outlandish. Sure it could happen, but I would put the odds of that and Jerry re-hiring Jimmy at about the same. Its not going to happen, anyone that thinks it is is not thinkingl

Stay on topic or the thread will be locked.

With Cincy up on the Giants, if they pull out the win, the Cowboys future is in their own hands. Their loss and a Cowboys win today sets the division like this:

NY: 6-4
DAL: 4-5
WAS: 3-6
PHI: 3-6

After this, the following games fall like this:

NY: BYE, GB, WAS, NO, ATL, BAL, PHI
DAL: CLE, WAS, PHI, CIN, PIT, NO, WAS

I see 3 games that the Giants should lose.
I see 0 games that the Cowboys should lose. Maybe 1 (PIT).

This season is far from over and this division is up for grabs.
At Cincy is as tough as Pittsburgh at home...imo.

I never said that, now did I? I said "should". The Cowboys only have one game on their remaining schedule that, if they play good football, could end up getting beat, not by themselves, but by the other team legitimately winning.

You really should be careful putting words into others' mouths. Notice how I said should; knowing it could happen but more than likely won't. ;)

If Dallas can win today, that game at home vs NO later in the year could have real meaning.

For the Cowboys, it's all about the division.. They're 1-1 with four to go. They have a shot. A small one, but they have one.

It's really not all that small. The Giants aren't that good a team. We've just used up our margin for error. We can't afford to cough up any games we should win.

You should be careful being so sensitive. Would you prefer "You see no losses remaining on our schedule with the Saints, Bengals, Steelers, Eagles, and Commanders x2?"

You apparently missed the question mark at the end of that sentence.

No losses remaining on our schedule with the Saints, Bengals, Steelers, Eagles, and Commanders x2?

.... therein lies the problem. how many games have we lost already that we should have won? 2? 3?

The Cowboys have CONSISTENTLY lost games they should have won for years now, and unfortunately, it doesnt seem like this season will be any different.

HOWEVER, and this is a just a feeling deep down in my gut, but I think this team will finish at 8-8, and we will see the fruition of Garrett's team building philosophy take place next season. so I am hopeful, and somewhat patient.

If we have any chance of making the postseason, this is must win.

So...

We will choke.

Either the players step up and dominate or they give up. That's the way I see it on this game. I hope the process finally kicks into gear this week.

We've seen it every year since 08. This team always has a shot, and teases us with flashes, only to ultimately fold in the end.

We'll get on a bit of a streak, get to 7-5, and then lose 3 of our last 4.

*cough*

The stage has been set.

Now it is up to the Cowboys to take advantage of it. If the Cowboys handle their business, they will make the playoffs.

I wouldn't overlook the Saints.

You're right. They have been picking it up as of late, and their performance vs. Atlanta today was impressive.

We have no tiebreakers right now, so a wildcard is a wet dream. The only path to the playoffs is as a division winner.

We are 1 game back with 7 games to play. This thing is far from over, if we take care of business and get a little help, we can win this division.

Now if we lose to the Browns.................Blow this POS up!!!

After a quick glance, I think the winner of our division might very well be 8-8. Knowing us, we'll be 7-9 :( but we certainly have a legit shot. If we win the next two and get healthier (Costa, Murray, Liss and Rat fully), we certainly have a solid shot at the division. This path would be easier if Dez's fingers were in since we'd have the better record right now over the Giants as well as the automatic head to head tie-breaker. Hey, I'm just glad we still have meaningful football to watch. :)
