drafted mike white? not sure how different a 5th-7th round selection is any better than a UNDFA where did Nooch and Grier come from? whoever's that quote is about Duggan its laughable many actual Heisman winners who were even better in college were busts in the NFL. not sure how the runner up with gaudy stats means thing..

Im not aginst drafting a qb but they better have more potential and upside then the journeymen vet you can add anytime to your roster. i mean we see Trey lance got what 3 high draft pick and taken 3rd overall and hasnt shown squat yet.. so we getting one in the 3rd or 4th round isnt going to make then just simply Get a qb in the draft somehow helps to bridge the gap between Dak and whomever next.

other teams 16-32 cane even find starter in the draft like the jets failing over and over ,titans, Washington, Browns and many more..they are picking high and missing big,.

im all for finding the next dak or Romo but doubt it will be that easy.
The odds are against you

agree 100%. Some here believe that if we don’t have a top 5 pick in the draft we can’t upgrade the quarterback position……I guess Jerry and Son believe that too

Purdy seems to be working out ok for SanFran despite his draft status.
Lance hasn’t shown a lot
Purdy has looked pretty good
It’s so hard to really know
Purdy fits the system perfectly, Lance may fit a different system better
There is no exact science but one constant is the higher a guys picked the better chance he has a nfl career. Though I’d say a first round guy is gonna get more opportunities since so much is invested

55k for first year.
They do more for the future of students than coaches. A small percentage of athletes make it to the big league. If these students don't learn well their future is usually not too bright. That is why teachers who actually teach reading, writing, and arithmetic and don't get into politics should be more valuable

I was a teacher first...all of my family were educators. It's a good job. I loved every minute of it

picking them 4th-7th is using plastic bat with major leaguer throwing with real baseball LOL we did get dak in the 4th but that must have been a free base with hit by pitch :))

And you're still here rooting for the Cowboys. Don't bite your tongue. Lol
Yep, no doubt.
But a Bama college fan.
All my family from Bama and dad graduated from there.
So there's that.
Roll Tide.

My nephew and God son is getting his masters at Alabama and will be working on Nick's staff. I've had a few drinks with him, he's a pretty good guy....kinda little, but a good guy!

What I like about the Niners philosophy is that they had a veteran in Jimmy G, a 1st rounder in Lance and Purdy as an insurance policy……they had quality depth.

we here is Dallas have had and UDFA and a 4th rounder as our starters for the last 15 plus years and the backups have been horrendous. we Simply don’t seem to put a premium on the QB position beyond our starters and we coddle our starters rather than drafting potential starters that would make them compete for the job

The good news is that parents are looking for better education options and as a result the membership in some teachers unions are taking a nose dive…..after the pandemic SOME of those teachers in the union were crying like hell because they had to actually show up and teach rather than handing out assignments over the computer and staying in their pajamas all day

49ers are a bit different. They never like Jimmy G and Lance was meant to replace him. They gave a lot to get Lance and so far it hasn’t worked out. Huge resources were spent on Lance with no return

You can hit on a Purdy, Dak or Romo every once in awhile. But the odds are slim, if not very slim. We’ve been very lucky
But luck is not a plan
Eventually we are gonna have to pay the price to go up and get a guy

Purdy being anointed way way early. Dak had as good or better season as rookie then Purdy.. lets see how he follows last season up and how his elbow effects his play,..ive seen Nick foles play like that and fall off cliff. but yes its crap shoot picking a qbs,
go up and get guy? we just discussed how doing also could get you a trey lance , zach Wilson or many busts. i mean the browns. jets, wash, and broncos to name few now indy just striking out for decade to find starter to draft and hen get desperate and go overpay with draft picks to get older vet and hope it works out, or pay Daniel jones/tannehill types too ,much and hope you can get lucky and make a run.

Dak was 4th, Rwilsoin a 3rd . Tom Brady a 6th Purdy a 7th..you can find qb bottom first through the 4th just have the scout get it right,.
its like reaching into barrel of snakes trying to grab the prize at the bottom without getting bit.

Purdy got in a perfect system for his skill set. Time will tell but I think he can be very good in that system. He’s not elite but that system is very QB friendly. Most passes are short passes
But you are right about the barrel of snakes lol
