As far as parity, well hopes around the corner.
But one thing I do know for sure.
Like Landry said, "Stay close to the top and pop through every few years."
Looks like that is NE's practice. But then I suppose them only having three Championships but playing in 7 AFC Championship games in 12 years doesn't mean much.
Those slackers.
I like Dallas' chances if they are going deep into the play-offs rather than 8-8 and HOPE for parity and luck to find a crossroads.
define for me "being near the top" when 7-9 teams can win it all? Where do you calculate or take into account the factors, schedule, injuries, refs bungled call, a team hitting their stride" and how is all that taken into account?
You can be a 10-2 team and i will let you know, you can lose, does that mean you didnt do everything right?
Winning does not have a set path, there are many many many different factors that contribute to winning it all. THis team could have won it all last year, but kept shooting itself in the foot. It happens. You cant take away the injury excuse, poor rob was dealing with a mess and he did a good job but why he got fired vs excuses was a VERY good reason.
Did this team under perform, yes anyone can make that argument, but a better argument is "the league is built on parity now" and its basically saying medicore is acceptable. Its for the whole league, not just us.
Did anyone really feel last years Ravens were really the team to beat? Come on be honest. I mean San Fran got a late start and basically lost to the clock compared to how awesome the Ravens were. They were a stronger team than most out there, but I wouldnt say only 1 or 2 teams out there could beat them, I think the case for 5 or 6 teams could have easily beaten them.
