With Feely hitting from 50 and 45 yards yesterday, our opponents' kickers have now made all nine of their field-goal attempts against us this season. Going back to Game 13 of the 2002 season, our opponents have made 64 of their past 68 field goals -- a whopping 94.12 percent! (For comparison, Mike Vanderjagt is the most accurate kicker in NFL history at a mere 87.28 percent.) During Parcells' tenure, our opponents are 56-for-60. And the only misses have come from 48, 52, 48 and 57 yards. So against us, they've hit EVERY kick from inside 48 yards for almost the past three years.

Uncanny, hopefully the law of averages will start breaking in our favor when the playoff push comes this year.

ALso, I saw Flozell was in the center of the line during opponents field goal attempts but it doesnt look like Canty is, being he is the tallest guy along with Flo why isnt he used in the center of the line to try and block kicks?

OMFG, that is unbelievable. I knew teams were hitting their FG's against us, but WOW....that is insane. Who is the next worst team, I wonder.

Good job, Adam. You post some very interesting stats. Keep it up. By the way, I shared this post with my daughter who sends out a Cowboys trivia question each morning to a mailing list of friends who are Cowboys fans.

That is just crazy. How is this possible? It has to break the other way at some point, hopefully at the right times.

We need to do some serious voo-doo to break this streak.

it really is amazing...it has seemed to be that way for years...I remember all the way back to a game vs Washington on Monday night in 1991 (the game Emmitt got sick after tearing the Skins up in the 1st half) and Chip Lohmiller booming 4 or 5 long ones against us...I think 2 or 3 of the ones he's made were from 50+...

just seems we always get murdered by the opposing kickers, whether its home or away

David

It is unfreakinbelievable that teams just don't miss against us. This is why I was crossing my fingers when watching the coin toss.

so that explains all the gray hair i now have !!!

thanks adam for this most interesting ( and aggrivating ) stat.

Make that 66 of their past 70 field goals, bringing it up to 94.29%. :bang2: You just KNEW both kicks were as good as gold when Seattle lined up. Unreal.
