This offense is setup that a competent qb should at minimum be able to drive the bus. The guys we had last year are bums, and with McFadden and dez either not playing or playing hurt, it was a terrible combination. Healthy dez and zeke? I feel like most qbs could be relatively successful. Dak looks like he could come in and play conservatively and do well right now. With some seasoning and if he played aggressively? Sky's the limit. I can't see many better situations for a qb to be plugged into

Dak may or may not have been playing against vanilla defenses but the fact is so are ALL the other QBs drafted and he has out shined them by a country mile if not further. IS Paxton Lynch better, is Goff better, is Wentz better, and so on. The answer is no and they have played against the same type defenses. We got luck getting Dak in the 4th round and call it whatever but he more than any of the rest looks like an NFL starter. Great? Who knows but based on two preseason games and practices, I will take him over the other guys hands down including those throw aways we had as backups last year.

Yep, that's him.

Actually, Beriault has the distinction of being in the Training Camp Hall of Fame; I'm not quite sure he even suited up in a preseason game for us.

I'm still angry I took the time to learn how to pronounce that dude's name.

Him and Matt Johnson. Both small school guys that played safety. Weird

Jason Whitlock says Dak Prescott is not a starting NFL QB. This was after the Miami game. But he's a fat slob so who cares.

Whitlock was very complimentary of Dak today on Speak for Yourself, defending him against Cowherd. He brought up the fact that Dak single handedly carried MSST on his back, faced constant pressure from the best teams in college football and completed above 60% of his passes while doing so.

He said he thought it was very likely that the draft completely under estimated what he did in college. He also defended his DUI incident when Colin pressed there. Whitlock is on the train!

I really like Cowherd and Whitlock (Speak for Yourself), so I wanted to point this out :)

I will say that the only thing tempering my enthusiasm for him is his draft position and I realize how silly that is but those are the realities. It is hard to believe that 32 teams were that wrong about him and did not see the traits he has shown so far in college and realize they translate well to the pros. I only saw him play in college a couple times and I think one of those he threw two picks near the end of one of the games this season when they were trying to come back. If he was the 4th pick (and projected that high by all teams) instead of Zeke, I don't think anybody in the fanbase would doubt him at all. There would be dancing in the streets.

Here are some names, Romo, Rodgers, Brady, Wilson. These guys were passed up by pretty much every team at least once. Not saying Dak is any of these guys, draft position is not really part of the equation, the only thing draft position does is lengthens or shortens the leash put on you.

I think the most impressive thing about him is how great he's played yet you can still see a lot of room for improvement. That gives me excitement.

MORE THAN ANYTHING, he's shown that there is a REAL prospect to be groomed behind Romo - one that may not even be close to maximizing his potential. I think what I'm impressed with the most is NOT the throws or the athleticism................it's the look in his eyes when they get close-ups of him during these games. He looks way too calm to be a rookie. And, THAT is what may help him the most going forward.

Anybody who's followed him in college, or if you ask any Mississippi State fan, they'll tell you this is one of his greatest attributes.

He's just a straight up leader, and a gamer. When it's primetime - game time - time to go out and handle business - he just steps on the field and plays. He doesn't get scared, and he's apparently pretty notorious for preparation - big study guy.
