Roderick Hood..... IF Ball's concussion keeps him out longer than expected, perhaps past the first week of the season or something like that.

I've always liked Hood as a ST player. The guy seems to have a decent return every time he touches the ball.

New York Giants Stoney Woodson cut

Is this for real? Mat Mosely was gushing about this guy being a great rookie find for the Giants.

Stryke Sulak? Hes a rookie OLB.

who is he speedkilz? im not familar with him;
i know he is a cb from south carolina i think, but dont think he is real fast or overly big
runs a sub 4.4 i think, what did matt mosley say about him?
because sometimes what teams do, they release players the 2nd cut before the last one, so he might can sneak through, then the team brings that player back onto the practice squad

I remember thinking that Martin Nance with his size would be a good addition to a team like ours, but he's shown nothing so far.

Bruschi retiring doesn't surprise me much due to his age, but I could have sworn I saw him suited up for the 1st pre season game. I wonder why the sudden change of heart?

IDK about that, if anything we should look for speedy slot Roscoe Parish/Donnie Avery PR types.

But at this point we seem to have our 5 guys and Ogle's would be claimed off waivers so I think were set.

162. Stryker Sulak
School: Missouri
Position:
•HYB
Year: Senior
Hometown: Rockdale, TX
Height: 6043
Weight: 240
Bench Press: 4.72
Projection: 5th/6th Round

Class: 2009 Big Board

School Bio

1.15.09 – Stryker Sulak got wide around Parrish with a nice move in the pit, and his handfighting has definitely improve as the week has gone on, but sometimes it seems like he won't be able to physically hang with NFL OTs. - Draft Guys On Location at the East-West Shrine Game

1.13.09 - Stryker Sulak played with great energy and showed better hand fighting and inside moves today in the pit. - Draft Guys On Location at the East-West Shrine Game

1.12.09 - Stryker Sulak seemed to rely way too much on his outside speed rush move and didn't play very physical in the pit. - Draft Guys On Location at the East-West Shrine Game

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defensive End | Senior | Missouri Stryker Sulak
Height: 6-41/2 | Weight: 251 | 40-Time: 4.77

Official Bio

Strengths:
Pretty good athlete...Decent speed and quickness...Aggressive with a non-stop motor...Does an outstanding job in pursuit and has a burst to close...Nice instincts and awareness...Was a relatively productive pass rusher..Special teams potential..Offers some versatility..Hard worker.

Weaknesses:
Does not have the bulk that you look for...'Tweener who may have to make a position change...Average strength...Not stout at the point of attack...Not smooth in space...Limited repertoire of pass rush moves.

Notes:
Was essentially a four-year starter for Mizzou...Considered entering the NFL Draft after his junior season...Named 2nd Team All-Big 12 in 2007 and 2008...Dealt with foot and knee injuries in college...Just a pass rush specialist in a 4-3 scheme...Best fit might come as an outside linebacker in a 34 but coverage skills are shaky...Classic overachiever.

It's most likely Mosely was just full of crap on him, but he has talked him up when he visited Giants camp. But he talked up about everyone at Giants camp. hence the full of crap.

Pretty sure he was going to be cut/benched, and was given the opportunity to retire instead.

Really surprised Rod Hood is cut. I liked this guy for a long time, he had some really good seasons, both on ST and on Defense. He's been released by 2 teams in the past few months though, he's probably done.

It looks like he wasnt fitting in GB's 3-4, but I think we should sign him to our PS. If nothing else he can rush the passer in Wades scheme later in the year if a LB goes down.

oh ok, thanks speedkilz, you never know, sometimes you find a gem in some other teams former roster, we do need some cb or secondary help

boy, would be funny if we got him and he helped the cowboys beat the giants in the 2 games we play them;
