Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words.

He is good. It was a clean break. He’s mostly healed now. Should be allowed to start walking on Tuesday after his follow up appointment with the orthopedist.
Awesome.

We know Micah is undersized at his position, and that his body takes a toll from going up against guys that are much bigger than he is. With that said, how does it compare to the other players at different positions whose body takes a toll from going up against bigger human beings?

RB's they're constantly getting hit by defenders and at times guys that are way bigger than they are, but they continue to play. QB's get sacked, they get sacked by pass rushers, and at times guys that are big nasty disgusting DL, yet they have to keep on going.

Are we being too soft on Micah, or does he need to realize that this is the position that he signed up for?

Interested to know your thoughts, I realize that the examples I've given are different from being a pass rusher, BUT in terms of contact, these players are getting hit a lot too!!
He was playing in the middle when he got hurt , rushing the A gap.

Im not a coach nor defensive expert. Im just a guy who loves football. Since Micah started to sack QBs I knew he was suited to be a 3-4 OLB he has all traits, size, speed and weight, I never look at him like a big 4-3 DE with a big body and lots of power.

But I mean, i thought I was wrong. But yeah, a 3-4 formation would make more sense.

Just got through watching the game, and late in the game they showed how many times Parsons had been matched up against Andrew Thomas without much success. At other spots, he got the pressure that led to Lawrence's sack (and drew a hold on the play), drew another hold and got at least one more good pressure.

My concern with bringing in a coach like Zimmer is that he slips into not being creative with his matchups. Micah is a chess piece; you don't line him up over and over again against the other team's best lineman. You attack the weaknesses of the offense with him.

People are too focused on Thursdays injury which is not "size' related.

I think his future is as a Charles Haley style specialist pass rusher - maybe only playing on passing downs. The giants pushed him around a lot against the run and he seems to wear down a lot in the back end of each season. So not an every down player.

If we bring in someone like Belichick next year, we might switch to the 3-4 and Parsons would be an outside linebacker. I think that actually might be good for his career, even though 3-4 OLB and 4-3 DE share a lot of the same responsibilities.
I agree, although I will say we don't have the personnel for BB's system on D.

It would be an adjustment period that Jerry and Stephen would be against, unless we have a losing record. Which might happen, but we need more information at this time. We would have to lose alot before BB would get a chance at all.

yeah i'm the OP and i'm not focused on anything about his size for this game/which may have caused his injury that's not what i'm talking about, i'm talking about overall taking a beating on his body vs other positions who are known to take beat downs as well. Hell look at LB's/Safeties they make big hits every game, doesn't that take a toll on your body, those guys go right to the ice bath lol

With a big 3/4 DE to protect him! Knowing us we'll put a 276 pound guy in front of him!

He needs to be an outside linebacker in a 3-4. It's insane to not know this. TJ Watt doesn't get the contact Micah does.
When will the Dallas media start to realise this and start asking questions?

This is the professional level. This is a physical sport but one has to meet the physical demands that demands. One either adjusts with new or heals.

Muhammad Ali added the rope a dope with George Foreman and wore him down. Slowed his power, then beat him with his skills.

This is a tremendously important thread for Dallas.
Parsons routinely gives up 70 to 90 pounds when he’s battling offensive tackles.
His body wears down. Look at his lack of production in December and January

The problem is when the opposition decides to run the ball. He is not effective against the run from DE bc he's getting overpowered by bigger humans. This wears him down. Zimmer moves him around but only on passing downs. He needs to be on his feet behind the DL so he can see better, diagnose plays, and use his speed to run to the ball. This defense needs a run stopping LB more than anything else right now and Micah could do that job if he wasn't down in a 3 point stance most of the game.

He just wants to be paid 35 million so he keeps playing out of position

A real GM and HC would play him at LB or trade him but unfortunately we have neither

Watch is sign him to 35 million/y deal and then we will be stuck with this idiot

The game is still won on talent, but the best applied team on the field.
