Same here. I saw our season going down the drain with each pass that Bledsoe threw. When I heard that sideline report saying that Parcells was going to put Romo in, I was a happy man. Despite the fact that he threw three interceptions in that game, I still liked what I saw that night and felt that the Cowboys were going to be a better team going forward, if for no other reason than the fact that Romo didn't take those horrendous drive killing sacks that Bledsoe did. I will have to say though that I never predicted what would happen those next six or so games when Romo-mania ended up sweeping Dallas. But I was glad to finally be moving forward.

I have to admit I do get chills from hearing that line as well. I have to say it was my number one Cowboys memory from this last decade.

I posted on another site more often back during the Bledsoe-Romo debate, but I'm sure it was just as heated here.

I dont think even the biggest Romo supporters back in the day could've predicted what Romo would do given his opportunity.

Not going to say I would have predicted this, but I started getting excited about Romo in his 2nd season on the bench when Parcells started dropping hints about him.

Don't remember the exact one, but in one of his PC's he said something like "I think you guys are going to get real excited about this other kid we here" referencing Romo.

When Tuna said that about a guy who hadn't thrown an NFL pass yet my ears perked up, and I couldn't have been happier when he got into the Giant game, even after the pick.

O what I would give to have Terry Glenn be 28 again.

No kidding. The one thing that really stood out for me in that video was remembering just how good Glenn was. All those diving catches on the sidelines and in the endzone. Man, he was good and we had him past his prime. It's too bad injuries and a bad attitude squandered his prime, otherwise he'd a HoFer.

It never gets old watching Tony play. His quick release is something else, and this video really highlights that. The way he can just fling it from any platform is pretty cool.

Seattle media was talking Hasselbeck with him and whether he felt he had a QB who could enjoy similar success in the future. They specifically mentioned Henson and his response was along the lines of what you said.

I thought it was a classic pump-and-dump. Glad to see I was wrong.

after watching this video it reminds me how much i miss terry glenn. austin reminds alot of terry glenn as to how he finds his way in holes in the middle of the defense the way glenn did. i did not really believe we would miss glenn but owens sure did when glenns knee injury ended his career. i think glenn could have played atleast two more years. even though he would have pushed austin off the team or hurd.

Yep, good ole TEK. I actually just uploaded the video to my new iPod and have watched it several times since Christmas. Never gets old.

yep. I remember it also. I was very excited by Romo's play that first night. I was thinking that we may have hit the jackpot with an undrafted dude like Warner. The Colts game sealed it for me. I have been on the bandwagon ever since. I feels good to be right.:)

It will be a shame if he doesn't get a SB. I like the early ones much like the 92 year so this is the year IMHO. Should have been against the Steelers a few years ago.

I still get chills.

"The first thing he said to me was, "I'm going with Romo"

I remember that will always be the happiest loss of all time.

I told all my friends at the time to watch out for him...and then his first pass is intercepted.

But I remember sitting outside after the loss having a cig, and saying to my friend, "I'm not even mad that we lost. There's so much promise going foward that I'm not even mad."

wow, I haven't thought about it again to this day. But the day after that game, I was sitting with my buddies telling them how Romo was the real deal and you could see that he had "it". All the while my friends were chuckling and laughing, saying if he was so good, why did he throw 3 INTs....good times....

As far as the video is concerned, that video is by far, hands down, without a doubt, the best video I have ever seen. I used to watch this video to get me pumped before every game. That video sends chills up and down my body.

The media was all over JJ's case about Bledsoe as the starting QB in early 2006. I recall Romo played the majority of the preaseason that year...Bledsoe got far less time under center.

I questioned that move, but the handwriting was on the wall. I did think that we were giving up on the season. Romo looked sharp that entire preseason, but then again, lots of players look sharp in preseason.

When his first pass was an INT, I thought for sure our season was over. When we played Carolina, which was his first start, and he won, I figured the season had renewed hope.

We coasted along pretty good until that 2006 Saints game, and we never got back on track.

I was actually at the game versus Houston in 2006 when Romo got to play for the first time. Was sitting right there in the end zone section when he threw the TD to Owens. We were so excited when he came into the game just to see what he could do because we knew what we had with Bledsoe at the time and it wasn't very good.

Couldn't agree more.

He has come along way since 2003. I'm so glad we had Parcells as a coach then. There is no telling what would of happened to Romo without him.

i laugh whenever i see that stupid 11th commandment..

"don't be a celebrity QB"

most of the other ones talk about how nothing matters but whats on the field.. then parcells contradicts that idea completely. what does a QB status off the field do to anything??

yeah god forbid someone be a celebrity quarterback like that silly PEYTON MANNING!
