The Top 5 Receivers After 7 Weeks... And Roy Williams

Please also factor in the weeks he started in a Boys uni last year and let me know how he fell as compared to the top 5 WRs. There's no need to take a fraction to try and prove a point. :laugh2: Factor in his time in general as a Cowboy. Thanks.

why? you'd just toss that aside, right?

no need to talk openly about something with a closed mind. set yourself up for failure, you fail.

HAHA.
Comparing Roy to those guys is absolutely stupid. They have great numbers. Roy has like 200 yards.
There haven't been any comparisons, only the presentation of actual numbers. If you like, please re-read the opening statement. It's pretty straight forward. It also kinda refers to the margin of overall receiving numbers as well.

There is always variability in week-to-week numbers. Are you stating that players are expected to have the exact same numbers every week? :confused:I never made any such claim. In fact, my opening statements included the following:

All five receivers sit atop all other receivers seven weeks into the season in terms of total receiving yardage.
Yet, he did have a better game that particular week than others have had during other weeks. And yes, the yards he gained during that particular game were less than what those same receivers were able to accumulate. That's just as obvious, but it doesn't make the aforementioned fact any less relevant.

The top 5 receivers roughly double Roy's yardage production on a per-game basis. Cherry picking individual games is nonsense. Roy has #3 receiver production levels with a #1 salary. Why does anybody defend this underachieving cap thief?

So, stating that a "#3 receiver with a #1 salary/cap thief" has actually done what was posted is a "defense"? That's a stretch.

You guys that keep trying to justify Roy to this point are really laughable. I'm getting a kick outta this. Keep it up. Shill party over here!

He's trying to push a feeble agenda. Don't burst his wittle bubble, ;)

Here's a breakdown of weeks where Roy Williams match or exceeded them in number of receptions, receiving yards, average gain per catch, longest gains and touchdowns:

Interesting stats. These numbers suggest that Roy has the potential to be a dominant figure on the football field.

Because he is a Longhorn - that's the only reason. If he weren't, the fans would have been blownup all over him a long time ago.

It is time that people wake up and smell the facts. Roy was an okay receiver for the Lions when he gave a damn - now that he got his $20M guaranteed, he doesn't need to try so hard anymore. He can just mail it in now and coast through the rest of his contract before Jerry releases him. Then he won't have to bother with all those annoying things like working on chemistry with your QB, perfecting your routes, catching the ball, etc.

Saying Roy matched or exceeded in specific areas certainly is comparing.

Who's justifying what exactly? Are the numbers incorrect? Have I made some claim stating that Williams should or shouldn't be benched?

Nope.

No they don't, they are omitting context which is what's important when you talk about stuff like this but I get the point.

I'm an LSU fan. I thought that a hundred or so Tiger related posts would've established that..?

Actually, no. My stating that his numbers make him an equal or superior receiver to those mentioned would be comparing numbers. That hasn't happened.

So, I have previously stated that Dallas either got hosed or profited from Roy Williams acquisition last season. Interesting. Have you read such a post?
