The Top 5 Receivers After 7 Weeks... And Roy Williams

Dallas East - If Roy Williams was given a small salary and we picked him up in the off-season for nothing, then the hue and cry would be patient with him and say encouraging things.

B ecause Jerry gave the farm away then offered him a huge amount of money - how dare he cash a big check - the usual suspects are going to be down on this guy unless he is posting the Austin numbers over the last two games week in and week out.

Truthfully he will contribute in my mind and others, and this jumping the gun on what he is doing is premature.

The pet cat theory applies here in spades when speaking about a player despised by the team for actually signing here.

No they don't, they are omitting context which is what's important when you talk about stuff like this but I get the point.

True, but almost any stat that is thrown out there is considered subjective by one party or another. It just depends on what side of the fence they're on that day I suppose. Some of these stats that are used are kinda useless, sorta like weather averages.Weather averages are just a compilation of extreme highs or lows and the average number is never the norm.

It doubtful that anything would satisfy Williams' detractors who ridicule the contract Jerry Jones' offered him or the draft choices he surrendered to acquire him. Certainly, his level of play since arriving in Dallas hasn't endeared him with them as well.

This post wasn't made to defend Roy Williams. The numbers aren't fake. There are numbers which exceed his. Perhaps Bleu Star would be willing to post those ( :) ). However, the numbers weren't made to "glorify" Williams. They only show what he has actually done.

Bleu Star didn't start this ridiculous thread. Therefore, Bleu Star has nothing to prove in this ridiculous thread. He told me to let you know that. He also said to tell you that the OP has FAIL written all over it.

Actually, no. My stating that his numbers make him an equal or superior receiver to those mentioned would be comparing numbers. That hasn't happened.

That would be 1 comparison. The most general in fact.

There are also a number of different comparisons that could be made, some of which you did.

umm... okey dokey.

Are you saying you didn't make ANY comparison's at all?
Nope. It's a straight listing of stats. The opening statements clearly explain what the stats are pertaining to. Nothing more or less.

Personally, I enjoyed the use of the 2 by 4 in the remake over the bat from the original movie.

Here's a breakdown of weeks where Roy Williams match or exceeded them in number of receptions, receiving yards, average gain per catch, longest gains and touchdowns.

Sounds a lot like a weekly comparison.

If a stat page is considered to be a weekly comparison and not a presentation of accumulated yards, etc., then I guess you're right.

I have not seen the original version in a coons age.I didn't catch the discretion between the 2x4 and the bat until you mentioned it though.

That's not a stat page. That's a cherry-picked list of numbers to try and make a point.

Interesting that Roy's numbers are at the top of all lists, either tied for the lead or taking it outright. Just coincidence I suppose.
