To be honest, the major reason most OS companies hate flash is because it acts as an operating system on top of their operating system and as such, creates a platform that competes with their own OS and its development potential.

If IOS had built-in flash support, a lot of app companies would design their apps in flash and circumvent the revenue sharing required to create IOS apps. I am sure Microsoft is hoping to cash in on the app market using the Apple App Store model or something similar and therefore will likely try to avoid flash support as well at least in the mobile versions of Windows 8.

Oh man I hate java .. java was the worst idea .. scratch that. It wasn't a bad idea really, it was just horribly implemented, at least the interpreter was. Every OS I have run java apps on crash repeatedly and tend to become even more crashable over time.
