Time to step up, this team didn't.

Tied the score at 10...(after that debacle on first and goal)

Gave the lead right back. (just like last week on the Taylor 72 yd TD run..only this time, the drive took a bit longer)

Then got held to three and out...

Then allowed the Chargers to start from their own 11, take over seven minutes off the clock and kick a FG which made it a two possession game with under two minutes to play.

Did the same thing as last week also where they dominated the Giants early but showed nothing for it..what was the early stat? 24 plays in Charger territory and 3 points to show for it.

Failed to score on a first and goal series.

Missed an easy FG.

Game.

No killer instinct.

The team never gets physically outplayed...it's just that they never step up when they need to...

It's getting kinda boring.

The Cowboys were simply outplayed by a superior opponent. Unfortunately, I see no indication that the Cowboys organization is capable of producing a better team.

Boring?

We are an innovative team. That is fun.

We find new ways to lose.

ACtually now I am more in a positive frame of mind. I know now this team is not going to do anything even if it somehow ends up in playoffs. So I don't to have my hopes up etc. That leads to less heart aches etc.

Yes, I have given up on this team. And I am of the mind, that as long as Jerry keeps calling the shots, I will not trust this team anymore. NO matter who the coach is. Just I guess, I will enjoy the games as they come.

Which also means I am not looking forward to next season that much either ;)

I don't agree.

The Cowboys were outplayed on the game's most important drives and plays.

That's the way it is with every loss.

This team has never been physically dominated by another team...I'll make ya a nickel be that in each loss, our stat line was better. Now, that's not the be all and end all...but the team has never gone out and been outplayed by another team except for those handful of plays EVERY game that they don't make.

I'd say they are the ARod of football..but he stepped up this year.

I'm used to it. It's comical to be honest with you.

What is not comical is I'll be owing my roomates 100 dollars for the Cowboys missing the playoffs.

The pessimist in me says that the Cowboys are the worst team in football; Overthrowmo can't win in december, Marion Barber is the 3rd best RB on the team, Patrick Crayfish sucks at life, Flozell Adams would find a way to false-start even if he was paralyzed from the waste-down, Doug Free is showing us why he's a backup, Gerald Sensbaugh is just a more difficult way to pronounce "Roy Williams", Terrence Newman couldn't beat a turtle in a footrace with a 10-second head start, and Wade Failups is the worst NFL head coach since Dave Campo.

The optimist in me agrees with the pessimist.

big plays-costly penalties-cant stop them on 3rd and long= recipe for losing

we dont know how to finsih games out

the Jimmy days if a team scored we would march right down and answer

defensively they would get you to go 3 and out after we scored

cant be fun in that locker room

Doesn't your description apply to most losses in the NFL? It seems most games are decided by less than a score unless a strong team is playing a very poor one.

Although the Cowboys have yet to be completely dominated, they've still trailed by at least two scores in the waning minutes in three of their five losses -- despite winning the turnover battle against New York and San Diego.

It seems the Cowboys are a mediocre team.

????

Nope. 8 game this week decided by 10 or more points.

I understand your point of view...and to a degree, it's valid...but this team does this EVERY time they lose...they either win rather convincingly or lose because when it's time to step up, they dont.

A ten point loss isn't a blow out, in my opinion. And losing by 10 doesn't necessarily indicate physical domination; it can simply mean the losing team was outplayed on the game's "most important drives and plays."

I'm not asserting the Cowboys are a bad team. They're simply mediocre, in my opinion.

What are you talking about?

Every time we have lost this season it is because we beat ourselves, at least that is what some on this board claim  .

This is a mediocre team and they always will be until they correct their basic flaw. Jerry Jones should not be the GM. It's the same answer as has been the case since Jimmy left town. We got better under Parcells because they made decisions together more as equal partners.

Next year it will probably be more of the same - mediocre team that wins 8-10 games and maybe makes the playoffs. Just the same as 4 of the last 5 years. 2007 was clearly the anomalous year of the bunch. It is a shame because it brought us false confidence instead of looking at how to more seriously deal with the team's flaws.

It's a darn shame we wasted that #1 and #3 on RW. We could have really used those picks for OL, ILB or safety.
