The Video Game Thread

I am assuming you have played the original Halo. I haven't played any of them, but I thought about trying this one. However, I have seen a lot of discontent about the game from players who played the original series. I wouldn't have any preconceived ideas because as I said, I never played it. What is the real reason for the disappointment.
A lot of the people dogging it are original Halo fans who are extremely protective of Halo CE (the first game). It’s not necessarily that they may hate remakes....it’s that CE is considered one of the greatest games ever made, so when you start changing visuals, gameplay, levels, etc., some people feel like you’re ‘fixing’ something that wasn’t broken. There’s also a nostalgia factor. If you never played the original, you probably won’t understand why certain changes bother people so much. Personally, I think some of it is just purist mentality...people want the exact game they remember, not a reinterpretation of it.

I love the original Halo. I had hours and hours into that game, and I have some great core memories playing multiplayer with friends....but the remake didn't bother me at all. I thought it looked fantastic, and I had a blast playing through it.

I'd say if the game looks interesting to you, absolutely give it a shot. Don't let all the negativity from the OG Halo crowd scare you away from it. It's a good one.

That Netflix preview of GTA VI that just aired was absolutely insane. The hype is real. Just some insane looking stuff.
Looks insanely good. The graphics and map just look incredible. This game is going to crush gaming records. It’s going to be a cultural event, not just a game release.

Not paying 100 bucks for no disc and none of the guys who made all the Rockstar classics worked on the game. It'll be way overpriced modern slop with no physical copy you can return if it sucks. And requiring a pay subscription service to view a freakin ad is just the latest red flag.
Agreed and no Trever to boot! Trever alone would be worth an extra $20! lol

Thanks. I'm putting it in my que.

I'm STILL playing BL4. I've made it UVH4. I stop playing it and then come right back. When I was promoted to UVH3 I inadvertently changed to settings to "True" mode. That setting changes the gameplay to the game thinks you're playing with a full team (I'm solo). I was playing around with the settings and I changed it to see what it would do. I forgot about it until I started playing a day or two later. While I was playing I thought I would never progress because every fight became a slugfest (and very monotonous) with enemies were continually spawning. I died a few times and I briefly stopped playing because continuously fighting a bunch of never-ending enemies got tedious real fast. Thankfully I finally remembered I changed the settings. I turned the "True" mode off and now it's back to normal. Still hard, but now more fun again.
