I thought about getting World War Z or another zombie book Called the Rising (think that is the title).

Been a fan of zombie movies for years but never read any books about them.

Have you read either of those and if so are they ok?

I have read World War Z and it is excellent. If you have any interest in it, then definitely check it out. It has been a few years since I read it, but I've been looking for it to read again. Can't remember if I loaned it to someone or just haven't unpacked it since I last moved. It will really get you thinking about how prepared you are for a survival situation and how panic and breakdowns in the government systems affect everyone in those situations.

Same author wrote the Zombie Survival Guide, but I haven't read it. I've heard good things about it though.

For those that have missed it.

I think they are showing the first two episodes tonight on AMC followed by the new episode.

Its a great show, I wasn't really into zombie movies/shows before but now I'm hooked.

Hey we need a zombie smilie on the zone, especially after this season.
:laugh2:

Tonight's episode is supposed to be the best episode so far...can't wait!

I can't wait for tonights episode.

Btw, if anyone misses the show, you can download it through torrent by going to www.eztv.it.

So Shane tells Rick's wife he is dead...real nice.

Nice way to have a ready built family.

Wonder if it's going to come out that those two were having an affair before all the Zombie stuff started?

If you have a hacksaw...why cut off your hand and not cut the link on the handcuffs?

Not what I would have done.

Quicker to go through skin and bone? I don't know.

I also don't know if he is still alive or not. How did he get off the roof if the door is still chained shut.

Will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Yeah, I didn't understand the decision to cut off the hand vs the cuff or the rusty piece of metal he was cuffed to. Also don't understand why he wasn't trying to get the hacksaw earlier. Makes for more drama I guess.

The Shane storyline is going to be interesting. Eventually, you know Rick will find out what happened.

Never thought I'd say that a zombie show needs more zombies, but they need more zombies. Starting to lose some of the suspense they had in the first couple of episodes.

Cuffs are made from hardened steel and heavy nickel plate. One hacksaw blade would not cut it. (Parden the pun)

I gotta be honest, outside of the special effects and make up, I'm not all that impressed by the plot of the story thus far.

Everything that's happened we've seen before, and perhaps even more gruesome in other movies.

I'm having a hard time finding a character I give a crap about too, I guess the lead guy is as close as it comes but I don't care about a single other member of the cast. They could live or die and it wouldn't matter, in fact I was hoping some of them would die so we'd get some more action.

The big pay off of last nights episode was that the guy cut his hand off, how awful. I saw a guy do that 5 years ago in SAW I. My wife is sleeping with someone else because she thought I was dead? I prefered that story line in Castaway.

This has all been done before.

I love zombie movies and this series looks pretty good. Plus with AMC having hits like Breaking bad and Mad men...hopefully this one will be done just as well.

My director loves this show. He talks about it all of the time. He made me swear an oath that I would immediately start watching this show.

I probably should do that.

If they follow the comic... it is going to get INTENSE.

This is just the beginning.

This is what I've heard. I've been tempted to pick up some of the comics to read the story. Have you followed this series?

Yep. I was expecting something better with the guy's hand. Something like he chews his hand off then carries it around as zombie bait, distracting chasing zombies one finger at a time as he tries to escape.

You never leave good meat behind.

No, but after watching the first couple episodes, I looked it up online and read a lot of summaries. It definitely "spoiled" some potential plot lines for the show, but if they go down those tracks, then we are in for some really dark stuff.

Don't look at this link if you don't want to be **spoiled**. Again, this is just stuff from the comic, not necessarily the show. In fact, the premise of this article is that this is stuff from the comic that is so dark and twisted, they doubt it will ever be included in the show. But if you want to know where the comic storyline went, it tells you.

Never could understand why those people would stay out in the open in the woods where the Zombies could hit you from anywhere...at anytime.

Find some cover and protection...I mean sleeping in tents?
