The way Romo handled Dez was incredible

I have a different take .......I agree not so much OFF the field but good field general. He's a C-type but without him, I'm not sure Dez plays as long as he did. He knew Dez's weaknesses as a route runner. I'm pretty sure he changed lots of plays from the sideline which put Dez at a disadvantage. This is why Dez struggled once Dak began as the starter.........running the correct route were critical.

Romo to a T
Yes, there is a Type C personality, which is characterized by traits like being analytical, detail-oriented, and conflict-avoidant. People with a Type C personality may also be quiet, introverted, and have trouble expressing their emotions.
Dak inherited an injured Dez. Dez never recovered from his broken foot bone from 2015. Even then, under Dak, Dez had the highest yards/catch average (15.9) in his career. Not bad receiving passes from a rookie QB who supposedly needed Dez to run precise routes.

Romo had a hand to handle headcases. Not only Dez. He had a lot of success with TO also.

But with all the players he played with i had the feeling he knew how to handle each (well most) of them to have success.

In that way he was a good leader.
Tony adapted to each player, using their best qualities.
He changed how he threw passes when throwing to dez.

Him and Dez had the fade in EZ down pat, and on deeper sideline passes, he threw those high
arch so Dez has advantage when they come down.

Dak just threw directly at Dez.

They lost to a Giants team that barely made the playoffs lack of talent wasn’t a issue in 2007.
Missed opportunity for sure
But that Giants team was talented enough that they won the Super Bowl
That was, of course, the proven bottom line

Fwiw, Romo did throw what should've been the winning TD vs them with 17 seconds left.

2007 was Romos 1st full season starting. Who knows, maybe 2014 version of Romo leads them to a W. Then again, the game-winning pass wouldve been the same. Perfect. Maybe Crayton would've have pulled up or wouldve have dropped another TD pass earlier. Maybe TO wouldn’t have been hurt
Lol

it is interesting how Romo was able to get the best out of both Dez and TO

but then certain morons claim he had no leadership skills
but then they are the same guys all over Daks supposed leadership skills

you need to research that giants team better.
the team and defense they had at end of season was very good.
They held NE and brady to 14 points? They beat GB with a still young rodgers in GB.
And Eli played great in that playoff run, he had some great receivers who helped him out,
but Eli made plays.
It was their defense though that made the difference in all those playoff games.

Dallas was one of the best offenses in the nfl that year, and the giants held them to 17 ?
Dallas was over confident also and thought they would win just by showing up to play.

trying to talk sense to the Dak bots is useless

Romo had all the talent, vision, and improvisation skills you could want in a QB, but he was constantly let down by poor coaching and questionable roster decisions. If Parcells had been able to stick around and truly develop him, Romo’s career might have looked very different. Instead, he got saddled with Jason Garrett, who was… let’s just say, not exactly a mastermind.

Romo was good enough to lead a team to a Super Bowl not named Dallas. I am not sure any QB could have done that under the current circumstances. He had his failures but he also gave the Cowboys the best chance in any game.

The same can be said for many quarterbacks, not all situations are the same. He was dealt a bad hand during his career.

Romo did get the best out of his receivers, there is no disputing that. He appeared to have led on the field for the most part.

That Giants team while it did go on to win the SB was not a great team and they didn’t even play great against the Cowboys..we all came away from that game thinking the Cowboys played subpar and had plenty of chances to win.

No need. I remember that season very well. I remember that Cowboys team very well. The Giants didn’t “hold” them to 17. Cowboys had a few dropped passes that left points on the board especially the Crayton TD.

In that game Giants didn’t play that well. They had a great run because they went on the road and won but by no means did they just outplay the Cowboys. Cowboys choked it away. It’s like the Cowboys and Packers….they choked and just because the Packers the following week almost beat the 49ers doesn’t lessen the blow they choked.

So are those dropped passes Romo's fault? Because it seems like he's the one getting all the blame
