The way Romo handled Dez was incredible

I don't think we ever saw the best from Dez. JG kept him glued to the sideline running nine routes, whereas a smart OC would have gave him some quick hitters inside where he could take one step and go.

Hard to forget that game or the 44-6 debacle against Philly in 08 that kept us home for the playoffs. That was another horrible game for Romo.
I think you are projecting team failure onto the QB. Off the top of my head I don't recall thinking he played particularly bad in any of these play-in or playoff game. Maybe one.

As I said though, I am open to reviewing them to refresh my memory.

That and the Vikings games are two of the most disappointing losses.

what about the Vikings game?
The thing I remember most about the Vikings game was our defense was pathetic. T Newman would not play press coverage in third & moderate or short. I don't know if it was a coach mandate & he was following it to the letter as a protest but they were just giving them first downs. He wasn't even trying.

I don't think our offense did much of anything either but to really give specific thoughts I would have to rewatch. I know I was extremely disappointed by this loss. Favre will give you chances if you make him work for it & we didn't.

If I was doing that I would be doing it to Dak like all his haters do. It wasn’t all on Romo or Dak. Romo was awful vs Washington, Philly and Minnesota. Two were elimination games and one was a playoff game. Either your memory is really fuzzy or you don’t want to remember how bad he was. The team/defense also played awful which contributed to his performance.

I can separate individual play versus team play. You are talking about things that happened almost two decades ago. Unless you have watched them recently how can your memory be any clearer than mine? Often when we revisit after a significant period of time we realize our memory isn't exactly how we would characterize the events today.

All you have to do is look at his numbers. Against Philly in 2008 he passed for under 190 yards and had one INT and two fumbles. He only completed 54% and his passer rating was 55.8. Against Minnesota he passed for under 200 yards with an INT and 3 fumbles. Our OL fell apart but Romo couldn’t just take the sack, he kept fumbling. He completely lost his poise. His passer rating was 66.1. Against Washington in 2012 he had 3 INTs. He completed only 54% with a passer rating of 55.9. Fans trying to spin he played well in those games can’t be taken seriously.

The offense scored 3 points lol.

Don’t get me wrong both sides were pathetic but this was one of Romos worst games a pro. I’m a little shocked the score was what it was it looked far worse watching it.

The offensive line was awful in the Minnesota game. Romo was sacked six times and hurried nearly three times that much. Minnesota was a top ten defense and had one of the better defensive lines in football. There were times the defensive line was in the backfield in like two seconds.

The Washington game he also was under duress. Jim Hasslet was the defensive coordinator. There were three nobodies, a rookie in Tyron Smith, and a fading Doug Free on the line

The Philly game was the same. Jim Johnson was the defensive coordinator.

All three of those games were examples of Jerry’s brilliant strategy of “we don’t need an offensive line, we have Romo” for the team after Parcells left, which faded under Wade Phillips, and then the redhead coach in training took over.

That's not the question though. The Oline gave up like 6 sacks & how many pressures. The question is how did the QB perform on each snap. Was there a play to be made that wasn't? Or did the QB get all he could out of the play? Sometimes it's such a **** show, there just aren't any plays to be made.

That is literally not what any good evaluation should be about.
QBs performances are evaluated by their numbers and W/L record. That’s how the HOF evaluates QBs. Not sure how long you’ve been following the NFL but it’s been like that forever. Romo’s numbers sucked in those games, it’s obvious he played poorly especially when you look at the scores.

Why people still talk about Romo is puzzling. Romo wouldn't even make the Cowboys QB Mount Rushmore.

Man, you trying so hard to frame the narrative with only "your definitions" & "your snippets" of numbers. No, HOF players are evaluated on much more than just their numbers.

Put up a poll asking which was the better individual player.
Ask any NFL person.
Ask them. One will say he's one of the greatest. One will say he thinks he was a pretty good player. That alone tells you which is all bravado with no substance.

You won't like any of the results because they won't line up with what you want to be true.

You’re kidding yourself if you believe every unbiased poll with experts ranking Cowboys QBs has Romo ahead of Dak in every poll. You won’t find anyone outside Cowboys Nation claiming Romo was one of the all time greats. Not sure where you came up with that. lol Dak ranked higher in the NFL’s top 100 than Romo ever did. It’s close between the two. Some think Romo was better and some think Dak is better. Their careers have been similar especially in the playoffs. I’m not going to continue wasting time arguing opinions. It’s obvious you’re pro Romo.

The statement made was Romo wasn’t why we lost…..and he was poor those games. I mean that’s when guys play poor no? When things aren’t going well?
