First, as a Father of two, what a sad situation at Penn State. Let us all have the strength to do the right thing should we be faced with such a situation. Protecting scumbags is not OK. Moving on...

I think this is what I promised to call my thread this week, forgive me if I got it wrong. I was in a rock band for most of the 80's and 90's and my memory is not what I remember it being, I think.

This was a great week, a really great week. It exposed all the haters, cynics and negative nanny's (or bbgun as we call it here in the south). Why you ask? Because while they trample all over stats, heroic play, positive spin, momentum and all things joyful, they make the same whimper every time, "I don't care about stats, I just want to win."

Well folks, we won. It was not pretty, we sucked in the red zone, Garrett (as Hos so gracefully pointed out in his weekly thread against his will) made some terrible calls and designed some idiotic plays. But we won.

And that's all that matters right? A win? When us logical folks point out Ben has been pretty bad in most of his SB runs, you haters say he knows how to win. He won, he's a winner. Right?

Well, this week, we're winners. Spit on how we won all you want, it counted and put us second in the division. It put us in the playoffs as of today. That said, I agree it's not enough, we have issues so lets review.

Our run D has disappeared. We're doomed! To that I give you Sean "Club Hand" Lee and his apprentice Bruce Carter! Now, I don't think either will be great this week, but Sean taking snaps away from Brooking and James so they can take oxygen on the sidelines will help them play better when they are in. He's probably better with one hand than they are right now with two. I think the world of Brooks and James, but age has caught them and the less reps, the better.

We need to find a way the next two weeks until Lee is healthier, Jenkins is back and Carter is more up to speed. If the D can hang on, they will have the pieces to be elite in 2-3 weeks.

Run Jason run!!!! We found the running game, and Garrett opts for trickery and stupidity yet again in the red zone. I believe he's bottomed out on being a moron, I really do. I don't think we can be any worse in the red zone, so I believe we'll get better. That's as positive as I can be because I think Garrett is horrid in the red zone. But simply changing his idiotic plays because he's under fire will help us improve, imo.

He's a great HC, a brilliant offensive designer, he sucks on game day and sucks in the red zone. He either needs to hire an OC or he needs to admit to himself what he's doing is bad and change. We'll see what happens.

After a ton of injuries, no off season to learn the new D, and a tuff schedule, we're 4-4. We have an easier schedule ahead but the injuries continue. A win this week means everything. A loss does too.

Carter and Lee help fix what's broke on D. Murray helps fix what's broke on O. Hopefully Garrett gets out of his way and takes the simple road. You're so smart you've outsmarted yourself so far Garrett.

That's how I see it so far, how bout you???

I wish our team would just do. It's always some excuse for why they can't perform.

"When we get Miles back..."

"When we get Newman back..."

"When we get Dez back..."

"Romo's ribs..."

"When we get clones from Don Meredith and Bob Hayes' DNA..."

Just do it.

I think its time for Garrett to look at the overall picture and do the right thing, either shake hands with some coaches, or shake hands with Jerry Jones. Either way it starts with the coaches, and if you dont think so, check the Giants.

I agree, but it's not just that, it's all of it. Romo, Austin, Dez, 2 LG's, Jones and a few others on offense at the same time. Jenkins dinged, TNew and Scandy out at the same time, Jenkins and Lee out at the same time, etc.

Look at the Pats and the Packers, if they have no other injury but their QB have busted ribs, that would line up the reasons they lost. We have our QB and his WR's hurt at the same time, along with oline injuries.

That stuff is legit and matters.

I'm listening to your show now by the way.

I concur.

The Packers had something like 15 players on IR last season.

So? Was Roger's one of them? Was their #1 and 2 WR, LG, back up LG some of the others?

It's not as simple as the Packers had injuries. Break Rogers ribs and see how they do, seriously.

I think their tackles were out and Finley

Take away Free, Smith and Witten, project the outcome

Romo isn't on IR.

And Rodgers suffered a concussion last season.

I'm shocked by your intransigence

Get back to me when you know for sure. It also matter who was backing them up.

I like the odds of loosing those three and keeping Romo healthy compared to Romo, the LG, and the #1 and 2 WR hurt.

But I still give the Pack credit for overcoming what they did. Let's not act like that's the norm though.

lmao, break Rogers ribs and see how the pack does with that defense.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Actually, I'm very well read. You stubbornly cling to the "shock" puns. Ergo, intransigent.

You haven't been paying attention...

Their ENTIRE roster was on IR and they won the SB using players from Texas School from the Blind...

BTW... they are better than the '90's Cowboys...

Have you seen the kids from Texas School for the Blind?

They're huge!

I think this is a good point. A lot of people are getting hung up over Garrett and his role, when I think it's more important to look at the roles of a couple of his offensive assistants - namely his brother and his OL coach. One is the passing game coordinator, and the other is the running game coordinator. Not that they're doing a poor job, I just think the Cowboys need better, and better assistants would benefit Jason a lot.
