The Zeke Elliott conundrum

I could care less about a RBs running style scat back, power runner or not. I want a RB that can carry the full load of called upon.

And that player is L.C. Scott

Geez, what would some people ever think of Zeke if he didn’t get the rushing title again because he had less or equal attempts of touches per game than the other top RB’s o_O

He’s constantly doing his dumb feed me gesture, give him the ball more and more. It gives him what he wants and will keep the fan base happy when he gets another rushing title from having the the most carries per game.

What is a scat back gonna do for you? Seriously, what has that type of player done for us in the past? If we are going to draft a RB, it needs to be a back that can carry the load IMO.

Me. Anderson from Oklahoma. Gets hurt a lot so he’s a lock.

We already have a workhorse back

You need other style backs that complement your workhorse back

I would pick up a FA rb looking for a home. There are going to be ones out there that had a good season somewhere looking for a fresh start. Give Elliot some competition.

Yep, they are always dirt cheap in free agency. Play to that advantage. Peterson was signed for $1M for the skins, paid off massively.

My pick is Chris Thompson once he is cut.

Clearly a good backup is required. Too many great rb's have been run into the ground by overuse. But who that might be, i have no idea.

JUST WANT A SB WIN...don't care how we do it. Seems to me more than 1 RB would go along way to doing this.

The ladies are scared.

This coward approach prevents Emmitt Smith from being the all time rushing leader cause he could get huwt and stuff.

Use your workhouse back if you're lucky enough to find one. Get a therapy dog if you can't handle the fear.
You mean the way the Rams ran Todd Gurley?

This is like saying driving a Ferrari with insurance is for scardy cats. I don't need insurance. See how tough i am?

Gurley was either injured or out of gas these past two months. Either way, you need a capable backup. And Rod Smith is not it. An upgrade is seriously needed.

Ma'am, upgrading the backup RB position to have a guy on the bench who can step in and start if there's an injury makes sense.

Adding a back to lighten the load and water down Zeke because you're afraid doesn't.

Let Emmitt Smith be Emmitt Smith.

They just need another good RB. Doesn't matter if he is change of pace or not. Just someone that is good.

If they happen to be blazing fast too then that would be nice but role players under Garrett never get enough opportunities to do anything so you might as well have a legit RB instead of a pure pass catcher or someone like that.
Yeah, I'd rather have an all-around type of back who can actually thrive taking hand-offs in our standard offense, not someone who needs special packages and gimmicks built in to give him some semblance of usefulness.

Other than Dunbar (for, like, that one great month he had that one time), almost every time we go get some gimmicky, gadgety type of specialty player, I feel like they almost always are a dud. We spend a whole spring or summer hearing how great they are at that thing they do. And then reality hits, and they're not good enough at enough things to get on the field. And usually they aren't anything special at that one thing we were told they're great at anyway.

It's kind of like when people say, "Telling me you have two quarterbacks is really just telling me you don't even have one." When I hear people swearing how a guy will be a red-zone beast or the ultimate gadget player, what I really hear you telling me is: "Okay, so he can't actually 'play' in the traditional sense of the word."

I'd rather have a guy who can play. A guy who, if the starter ahead of him goes down or gets suspended, will be able to step in and function like a starter.

I'll leave it to the genius phenom to figure out if Zeke should be rested or not.

But an upgrade is needed.
