TheCount's "All Starters" Mock

I would put cannon at RT before Gilbert. But the best thing to do for this OL is carimi at RT and Cannon at RG and sign Blaock for LG. Or resign Koiser for two years and some how find a way to draft Rackley who will need a year to develop and then release Koiser and start Rackley in 2012.

Next years draft get Guorde's replacement. I don't see any C in this years draft that I really like.

Falcons have bucket load of FA to sign including Tyson Clabo, Harvey Dahl

that leaves out Blalock

I like that line

Free
Blalock
Gurode - next year go after Ohio State Brewster
Cannon
Carimi

Well I think your dislike for Black explains most of it, you're probably the only one I've seen say Black is a FS only.

I'm not sure what you think a SS "plays like", either.

I guess your just looking that Black played SS in college so he must be a SS in the NFL. FLorida is different from the Dallas Cowboys.

Rob Ryan uses his SS different that Florida uses theirs. I don't understand why people think he can play SS. Nothing I have seen suggest that.

He was a CB before being put at SS.

Plus I gave two players who play more like a 3-4 SS in Ryans defense. Black just doesn't fit the shceme as a SS.

Actually, no. I'm not.

As I said, you are the first person I've heard say he can't play SS for any reason other than his size. Then again for all I know you are infact basing your opinion that he can't play the position on his size.

I do however like the idea of Carter at SS, I think SS is more natural a position for him but people here will be scared of that because he went to the same school as Roy and would be playing the position Roy failed at here.

no I don't care about hieght or wieght, I look at how they play the game and Blacks, game does not fit Ryans scheme at SS.

I would love for the draft to fall this way for us. nice job.

For what it's worth Black was the leading tackler in the SEC last year among DB's. Not sure which safety spot he's best suited for but I'm pretty sure he's a sound tackler. He also had 5 INT's.

Lindy's and PFW draft mags both speak pretty highly of him. Excels in coverage and a terrific tackler. Good intangibles. Was a team captain for UF in 2010. I for one would be thrilled to have him on our team.

oh I would take him in the 5th don't get me wrong, he reminds me of T.J. Ward, who last year was selected in the 2nd round by Ryan and the browns. He played great at FS but most people before the draft had Ward as a SS. Ward was also the leading tackler for the Browns.

I just don't think you can call Black a starter day one and I think the way he plays he is more of a FS in Ryans 3-4 defense. Also don't let his 40 time fool you. He plays alot quicker than his 40 time.

TJ Ward also played SS in college, but like Black his skill set matches what Ryan likes in a FS.

Hey Count - how about Buster Skrine, CB, UT-Chattanooga for round 7 :)

Skrine is this years AOA but with less flash. I think Skrine will go late 4th early 5th.

I'll take it, but I saw him listed higher than the 7th in the rankings I was basing my picks off. Also have to keep in mind it's a low pick in the 7th since it's from the Chargers.

Gawd I hate picking a DE in the first - and esp with 3-4

I mean we can get another Spears later on

I see only two difference makers in the first round on D

Petersen an Dareous

much rather take our chances on a OT

Trust me, I'm not thrilled with taking a DE in the 1st either. I do, however, believe Jordan could be a difference maker. In fact if he weighed 20 lbs less, he might be the best 3-4 OLB in the draft. I'm not as high on Tyron Smith as most, but I'd probably agree that you'd rather roll the dice on a LT than a 3-4 DE.

esp this year when you got some many DE's in this draft

Boy he better be I think its between Jordan and Prince

I not high on T Smith either

but give me Carimi or Costanzo

Yeah, I think I prefer Carimi the most as a RT option but that would require a trade down in my mind and I don't really do trades in my mocks. There are already enough variables, you know?
