Wow, an F-22 actually being used on a "mission". First one I've seen.

im scratching my head on this one...please fill me in

The big plane is the Russian "Bear" bomber, the Tupolev-95.

They use them to fly over US airspace. Kind of a cat and mouse thing the Ruskies liked to play in the Soviet days. And, now, since Putin came around (and now Medvedev) they've been doing it again.

The first US jet is the old tried and true F-15, the new one is our gloriously butt-kickin' F-22, hands down the best interceptor/fighter in the world.

The F22 along with its "sister" fighter the F35 are something else, thrust vectoring, fully stealth, internal weapon stores. A truly magnificent bird.

And the Navy version of the F35 has VTOL capability.

The Navy AND Marine versions have VTOL? What prompted the Navy to finally adopt it directly?
