It was also either the day before or day after it was revealed that Dak was out for the year. Not out a few weeks, the year…and either way the team knew that. Makes it even more puzzling.

Wouldn’t have minded having a fourth round DT in the mix instead of him, especially if your plan was either using a first on WR2 or trading for one.

I get that view, but most day 3 picks don't end up working out either. They gave up a 4th for a player that showed some promise the prior year when he was a 2nd round pick. Yes he was trending in a poor direction and we probably over paid by a round for what he was showing, but I really don't want to harp over a trade for a day 3 pick.

In the history of Cowboys trades the Mingo trade is a small blip vs some of the others made.

He actually didn't show promise. He was force fed the ball short. Had only 43 catches on 85 targets.

This is where the stats don't tell the story.

There are only maybe half a dozen or so on either side of the hater/homer battles, but they go at it constantly, filling every thread w/ bile. And that carries on to make good posters also start casting insults.

100 pct correct. So the Cowboys have spent a 3 and a 4 on 1 guy that can’t play and another that might be bolting after this season. This time next year they will still need a #2 WR and also missing 2 good picks. It’s stupid asset management. Pickens, if the can get him to behave, is a very good 2 and compliments Lamb really well. They need to extend him to make that trade work. Giving up a 4 for Mingo is just another bad move by Jerry. Mingo probably would have been available via a cut right now.

Its a new season and I can and will put the past behind me with this team. If it ends up in disappointment so be it than next year it will be 31 and counting. My preference is positivity
