There is not enough Dak hype on this board

Even though the whole commentator world seems impressed with Dak, I find myself still searching out doubters who finally comment, "Yeah, Dak's got something special" It's funny to me, seeing so many Cowboy haters double down their hate when they see the talent that's being assembled on the roster.

Dak's performance in preseason trumped all starters and backups across the league, and he is regularly mentioned among the veteran starters week after week in the regular season. But if there's a new angle to discuss with Dak, it is this:

We have the future at quarterback on this team. That means, now that the offense is solidly stacked with Pro-Bowlers, the scouting department can turn its full resources toward acquiring defensive stars. It will get good really fast, when free agency comes around next year, along with the draft. We have a great quarterback at a cheap price for now.

Getting a premium player or two will turn this around quick, with a healthy DLaw and Jaylon Smith, possibly Gregory. But even if that is not happening, we will add 3 starters to a Defense that is playing above their pedigree, by a long shot. The future is bright because the team can focus on acquiring defensive talent.

Thanks, Dak!

Dakmania is real. That said, give me Romo as my starting QB when he's healthy and ready to go.

not having to use a top pick on a qb or trade picks to move up to find a qb is really a big advantage in that the team can use high draft picks on defense for a while. that is of course assuming that things continue to go well with him. I think they will so i am really pumped about the next 10 years or so.

Wut? I agree with the body of your message (more or less -- this is still Tony's team, but yeah, Dak is awesome) but your title is flat out wrong. The Dak hype train is full speed ahead, from fans and media alike.

Have you even been reading this board at all the past few weeks?

There's a large contingent that wants him starting even when Romo is ready to come back. How much more hype do you want?

Have you bothered to search for posts at all? The Dak hype is immense with multiple threads posted.

A call out post really adds nothing to the discussion.
I'm just saying it's not enough for me, I'm always looking for more. Dallas finally has the QB of the future!

If there is not enough hype over Dak it is because a lot of Romosapiens are overshadowing it with lamentations about the good old days with Romo, you know, 8-8 seasons and fadeaways in December.
I don't know if Dak is the answer but it beats the heck out of the will he play/won't he play and mediocrity of the Romo Experiment.

Hey I'm game. WoooHooo !!!

Totally agree there is absolutely no reason to spend top draft spots on anything but D next year. Hopefully we get a bunch of 2nd contract candidates.

Meh. Like all things that have to do with the Dallas Cowboys, I never go above being cautiously optimistic.

Might be a long while. Even then, will we be holding our collective breath each time old man Romo takes a hit?
Uncertainty and yearly leaves of absences by Romo is no way to live....

Really? So if Romo goes down you think the season is over? Or are you more the caring sentimental type?
