There were tons of Cowboys fans during the 1992 season that refused to believe that the Cowboys were the best team in the NFL well into the 4th quarter of SB 27. They kept waiting for some other shoe to drop. They kept telling themselves "THIS CAN'T BE REAL!!!"
And for maybe 5 seconds immediately right after the game, they relaxed, maybe took time to catch their breath. Then on second number 6, they went right back to searching through their football cards, draft books, plotting and plotting over how the Cowboys needed to get drastically better in order to repeat.
Yes, as long as there has been the Dallas Cowboys, there has always been a segment of white knuckle fans who day after day make themselves and others around them MISERABLE. They are not fans of the game at all, but mentally ill control freaks trying to reign supreme over their fantasy world.
I was reminded of this when reading through all of the Dak threads today. Not that I believe Dak is the right QB for now or the future. But why can't fans just enjoy the success their backup QB is having without going to one extreme or the other.
Please if you are one of those extreme types, please go get help.
