Last year's rankings may have little to do with 2019, but just the law of averages says it's highly unlikely that Dak would go a second consecutive season without facing a Top 5 pass defense at least once.

If Dak wanted to get paid now, he'd have already negotiated a Foles-like deal for 22-25 mil/season.

If we're going to be forced to pay a maxed out deal anyway, there is quite simply no reason for us not to wait.

Dak should jump on a deal for around 25 mil/season for 4-5 yrs. That way, he is beyond rich no matter what happens afterward.

He wants a deal done just as Wentz wanted his done and how most QB heading into a season before FA wants to get a deal done.

Dak is no different than any QB who will be entering FA. Teams, all teams tend to do this. Eagles did it with Wentz who has been injured quite a bit yet they still took care of his contract knowing he will be a FA next season. I have no doubt Dak has confidence in himself even if fans don't. Most athletes do not back down from challenges or doubt their own ability

Dak wants to get paid because it is time to renew his contract. There is no hidden or alternative agenda. In addition with the upcoming CBA negotiations and the potential of a lockout, he and every other NFL player not under contract will want to ensure they have plenty of money in the bank.

If there is a player out there who doesn't have enough money to strike for a couple of weeks or so then it's his own fault.

Im not a big fan of Keenum - another bus driver - but if available at 1/10 the cost of Dak.....?

Say what you want about Dak's mechanics as a pure passer of the football, but the market dictates his worth and I'd much rather tough it out with him than guys like Derek Carr, Matt Stafford, and a hoard of others. Could you imagine a season with Mike White or, dare I say, Cooper Rush under center? Pay. That. Man.

Don't be naive. His price will only increase. He isn't playing a disposable position.

He just saw Wentz get a huge payday for accomplishing zero. Why shouldn't he get paid. Has zero to do with their upcoming schedule. He's worth way above what his contract is paying him now.

You also have guys like Stafford and Cousins, who have accomplished zero making huge money.

You guys are missing the boat. The team either has to pay him now, or be prepared to pay the franchise tag amount next year. He will sign for less than the franchise tag will cost us next year.

You either believe he can be the man and pay him market rate or you be prepared to lose him after this year. He has the team by the gonads if he completes one year under the franchise tag.
