This QB draft class is deep. You can get a guy in the late 1st that would’ve gone much higher in another draft.
I thought we got Trance? Maybe we should draft 7 QB's, because we will have time to properly evaluate all of them.

Cowboys would never bench a player who just made All Pro. They are stupid but not that stupid.
The only move that would make sense as far as benching him would be to try and force him to waive his NTC. Kind of like what Denver did to Russell. Outside of trying that there’s no way you’d bench him. I also agree it would be stupid to bench him as a negotiating tool. Either start the rebuild or extend him.

Too early to tell.

To win 12 games again they need to fix the OL first. Right now they need to land 2 starters. Zero room for error in the draft.
That's right and they need contributions from last year's jv kids as well.

And they are keeping Dak. Sounds brilliant. Trance will not play. At the end of the year we will still not know what Trance is.

So then what?
Trade Trey Lance right now for a 4th round draft pick. Trade him while several teams are still looking for a young QB with some kind of potential. Trade Lance to Dan Quinn for the Commanders mid 3rd round pick or to the Vikings for their early 4th round pick.

Why would anyone do that? Teams had their chance to trade for Lance last August and the best anyone offered other than Jerry was a 5th from Buffalo.

What has changed with Lance since August? Nothing. He was inactive the entire season.

It has gotten worse. He is now $5M and a free agent next year.

So now you’ve shifted to that??

Five weeks ago you said they needed to be major players in free agency, they did next to nothing, yet they are still gonna “win twelve games?”

Take a pick.

Meanwhile I’m sure Patriots fans are gloating over their one undefeated regular season.

Difference is Lance has now trained under 2 different organizations. Hold a private workout for several trade suitors. Take it from there. Cowboys need a mid round pick badly for next month's draft. Trade Trey Lance now before he becomes a free agent after this year.

1) Extend Dak.
2) Cut or trade Dak and start Trey Lance in 2024 to see what you got.

If they start Dak without extending him just to move on after the season, it will be the incorrect answer.
If we cut Dak we don't even get a comp pick out of him.

The problem is the "no trade" clause. Dak can only be traded with his consent.

Hence let the offense leave and give Dak the choice of playing a contract year with a depleted offense or agreeing to be traded.

To be fair, we don't know how many teams knew they were trading Lance. Jerry snatched him up as soon as they called him.
