Before you or anybody else wants to start felix over Barber let me remind you that marion The barberian playing the way he did was one of the biggest reason we went 13-3. And in that playoff game he did everything he could, even ran himeslf out of gas to end the game. He was our beating heart on offense.

So dont let one average season where He was hurt fool you...Marion BArber is a beast.

After putting some thought into it, I actually do think MBIII should be in the exact role he was in when Julius was here.

Why not? We tried the MBIII feature back thing last year and he ended up with 3.7 YPC. Yeah, injuries and all that, but the 1-2 combo is best the way we had it. Who cares who starts? I do. Running the legs out of teams and then battering them works better than it does the other way round. Remember how killer MBIII was when he came off the bench? After a mediocre JJ softened it up for him? If Julius Jones could do that I'd be scared to see what Felix could do. And now we have Choice. I'd much rather MBIII be the change of pace guy rather than Felix.

And for people saying he'll break... last year was the first remotely major injury in his entire football career. He's not injury-prone... yet anyway. I think ulitmately it might not matter. I'm fine with having MBIII start and Felix being the change of pace guy. But if MBIII looks like he did last year (and like he did in preseason, really), I don't see why you don't change it up. Marion's not the kind of guy to ***** for PT like that. I still remember that image from Hard Knocks last year of TO partying it up and next door MBIII is playing piano by himself.

IMO they should start Choice, use Felix here and there, and finish with the Barbarian once the D is tired.

Start Felix, give him around 13-15 carries in the first half, Choice aand Barber around 3-6 carries in the first half...

Second half give Felix around 5-8 carries, Choice 3-5, and Barber 10-12.....

So all and all, felix gets 18-23 carries a game, Choice gets 6-11 carries a game and Barber gets 13-18 carries a game... totaling anywhere between 37-52 carries a game between the 3........

Felix can pretty much avg. around 85-120 a game, Choice about 25-40 yards a game and Barber around 60-80 yards a game.........

Then again we can start Barber, let him bang the first 3 or 4 series, then sit him 2-3 series and let Felix/Choice run around. Start Barber the first 2 series of 2nd half while giving Choice and Felix the load often in the 3rd and early 4th, then close out with Barber....

I just hope Red knows what he is doing because and all honesty Red is not innovative enuff for me, hope he proves me wrong though......

I wouldn't start Felix over Barber.

Why would you? Felix couldn't take the hits that MBIII can take. And he has more experience and hangs onto the ball pretty well. Felix hasn't had enough game time with the Cowboys to prove this, but he has proven he can be a serious threat when he touches the ball. His average will blow MBIII out of the water, but in today's game you can't have a guy with Felix's build touching the ball 35 times a game. However, I will say I think the tandem of Choice and Felix could be just as effective as MBIII and Felix. But hey, that's just me. I do like MBIII as well as any of our RBs. In fact, I'm in love with them all.

Not to mention, we want Felix healthy late in the year. I firmly believe as the season goes on that he'll be getting more and more carries.

I agree, start Felix give him 15-20 carries per game, mix in Choice and let MB close the games. If I remember we were 13-3 with that philosophy in '07. Barber could not carry the load last year as a starter, he was gassed in the 4th, he had nothing. Make him the highest paid closer in NFL history because he's worth it and closing games would be worth every penny to the Dallas Cowboys.

Maybe that also had to do with the fact our offensive genius, red, hardly put in anybody to help Barber. He needed a breather. And also imagine what a tired defense that took a beating from Barber will do when a fast guy like Felix is in when the game is on the line.

I don't think they are scared at all. Both Barber and Felix will get their oppertunities within the game as far as starter goes you have an opinion as do the coaching staff and for now Barber is the starter.

Who's on the field for the first play doesn't really matter.

How many plays Felix gets does.

People who don't already realize it are going to find out real quick that we're just doing the other team a favor for every play that Felix isn't in the game. I think a month from now we won't be debating who should be starting, but whether our best offensive player is Felix Jones or Jason Witten.

I think Felix will see ample time returning kick offs, at RB, lining up outside at time and being in the back field with Barber at times. I think Felix is going to be an important part of the team but I think Barber will be a big part as well.

How is that a qualifier? Plenty of guys will be starting around the league Sunday that have 6 games or less experience.

Jones is lightyears better than Barber. We're helping the other team out when Barber's getting the ball for any other reason than it's a 3rd and 1 or if Jones needs a breather.

As Parcells used to say, what difference does it really make anyway who starts the first snap of the game? They're both going to be used situationally in roles that maximize their talents. Throw Tashard Choice into the mix too.

I have said it over and over again.

Start Barber
Bring in Felix
Then bring in Choice
Then go with the hot hand

Based on what? The feeling Jones gives you in your pants?

I love Jones and think he is the most exciting player on the field ...... but to say he is "light years" better than the Barbarian, at this point in his career, is borderline ********.

Well, that makes perfect sense, but honestly, I'm not certain how many are going to understand it.

We don't know what the coaches have planned for the 3 running backs.. Let them worry about who gets carries.. I just want results..
