They pulled me back in

It's a true testament to how good the Cowboys are at PR. Above all else this franchise does the best job in PR, simply incredible.
I’m not so sure they are great at PR as they are at relying on the foundation of millions of fans from the 70’s and 90’s who passed down that fandom to generations who have never seen success. No amount of public relations will help a perennial loser like the Browns. Jones’ job is to not screw it up and he’s been trying for a long time.

The biggest factor ever in team history was Tex Schramm marketing the America’s Team label. That is still driving the perception of the Cowboys today.

I think they certainly had a better "off-season" in terms of player acquisitions. But, I'm going to be cautiously optimistic and temper my expectations so that I won't be disappointed later in the season. LOL
That's a sound idea. It's one that assures you of enjoying a team that's improved and not remaining stagnant. Sometimes it's best to temper expectations and simply enjoy having a winner of limited glories -- even if it doesn't include a Super Bowl. Having hope is a comfort.

If this FO continues their upward trend in player acquisitions, there will be something to cheer for the present and comforting feelings of promise for a better future. Actually, it's a new experience that we haven't had for quite some time. Usually, great improvement takes its time in coming.

By the end of last year’s disappointing season, I was very much checked out and indifferent.

And when the Schotty hire was initially announced, even more so.

But I must admit that as the off-season has gone by, my interest has been rekindled.

I loved the assistant coaching hires.

I loved what they did with trades and lower level free agency.

I loved the draft.

I love the Pickens trade.

I think they’ve had a fantastic offseason and I’m eagerly looking forward to training camp and the upcoming season.
A cold shower should sort you out........get back in line with the rest of us misery guts.

There is definitely a lot to like.

I hate to admit but me to. I don’t like the Shotty hire but everything after that has been money. Had a damn good offseason.
I love the Schotty hire and did so from the start. Caught a lot of crapp in that Who Likes Schotty thread, but it was fun!!!!

Having a really positive off season feels good.

It’s not perfect. That’s an impossible expectation, but it’s been good.

And that’s about all I can ask at this time.

Not sure about how the rest of you guys are feeling, but I'm feeling pretty good right about now. This team seems like it's on the brink of very good things on offense and better things on "D." Now, lemme tell you, if that doesn't warm your soul somewhat, I dunno what to say! I'm seeing a much better team happening this year for a change.

If Dak gets himself healthy and has more time to make good things happen, we might even give the rest of our division a run for their money. I feel just fine, how's about you?? Have I gone berserk, or just kidding myself?! ;)

Yeah I don’t like how they didn’t interview anyone and didn’t even try. They went with a guy in house which killed all hope for some change.

your entire post is exactly spot on .

Only thing I would add is although I do think Jerry and family still needs to sell the team, I do commend then for this off-season.

I will admit last year there were a few times where I was questioning whether I wanted to even follow football anymore (although I absolutely love the game), but this year yeah I think it will be fun to watch. Not gonna be blind or anything naive to have too high expectations, but more so on an individual basis and as a team play.

Dallas had a good draft. Not impressed with the free agent pickups. Pickens was one of the worst Steelers players in history.

I am still on the outside. 30 years of history tells me to wait for the preseason games. I really don't think Dallas does anything in playoffs until Dallas drafts a new quarterback.

Here comes the ones that wont be told by anybody.

Hats up and dont forget to buy those merchandising crap too so you feel like being a real fan.

Cargo Cult.

GO JONESES!
