I am just one person in a sea of Cowboys fans. I’d like to think I am a pretty level headed guy and I try not to get too high or too low after a win or a loss. My life goes on the same regardless, although after last night’s pathetic showing, I am as frustrated as anyone here.
There have been several divisive issues here over the years: Dez, Witten, Romo, Dak, Tank, Zeke, Garrett. The list is too long to mention here. But suffice it to say, that some of these issues end up with one side eventually being way heavier than the other as the sample size increases.
Last nights game really pissed me off. Maybe it’s because you could see it coming from a mile away. Over the last 20 plus years we see a common theme as Cowboys fans, in years when we have plenty of talent, our team fails to show up and perform. For the life of me, I can’t explain why.
Having said that, much like the Garrett issue, one side became a little bit heavier than the other last night. I’m as big of a Dak fan as anyone here, and I’m not ready to give up on him yet, and I still think he is good enough to win a SB given the right coaching and supporting cast. But he is not worth $40M cap hit he eats up.
The Dak train lost a TON of supporters last night. I am looking around me and the Dak bandwagon has a lot less people on it, for various reasons.
I think that this loss will be an eye opener for the Cowboys organization. I think you will see McClay do some self scouting. I don’t know what will become of it.
Dak, Zeke, CeeDee, Tank, the entire OL, the entire DL, Cooper, all underperformed during showtime last night. The leadership is going to have to evaluate players and their cap hit.
