AbsolutelyWeren’t you saying he was a “penalty waiting to happen”?
Awuzie...I think he has the athletic ability, but he has limited ball awareness and appears to be his own worst enemy from a mental standpoint. Hope he can turn it around. Time is running out.
I have been mildly disappointed in Scott in the games so far. I think the lights might be a tad bright for him at the moment. There were a few instances Saturday where he was several yards away from what appeared to be his man. Now obviously we don't know if it actually WAS his man but he was the closest defender so that's all you can go by. If it wasn't his man then somebody else REALLY blew the coverage.Eric Scott is better right now and has flex. Why should we waste resources and time on KJ?
I cant disagree. Heck, the defense was bad all day really. Still think hes better than KJ is.I have been mildly disappointed in Scott in the games so far. How can you be "disappointed" in a 6th round pick?I have been mildly disappointed in Scott in the games so far. I think the lights might be a tad bright for him at the moment. untrue. He wasn't great this week but awful is an exaggeration. KJ is a dumpster fire that every now and then does something decent.Scott has been awful
hes a 6th rder and been better than expected.Scott has been awful
I'm going to have to agree with the other poster and disagree with you here. I don't get the degree of Scott love on here. It seems to be based on TC comments from media members on social media watching plays that we didn't even see ourselves. Scott has not been good at all in the two games we actually saw. I understand it's only two preseason games and in those 2 games he has probably played like only 60 plays. So, I'm not in any way stating he won't be a good player. I'm just contesting this idea that I read over and over again on this board that he has been playing so well. He was poor in coverage in both games. His run defense has been really bad and was not great in College either. He seems to avoid contact. Look at the first good run Seattle had to the right side. He was like 5 yards out of bounds because he followed his man the entire play and it wasn't even a pass and never located even though everyone else had and it was to his side. Look at the TD the first game at the goal line where he followed his man across the middle and completely gave up the edge and was looking into the backfield as he did it and should have been looking right at the handoff. Every time I've seen him in run support I haven't been impressed - admittedly I may have missed some plays and not seen others clearly. He will likely make the team and he should IMO, because he was just drafted just this year, but he has a long way to go to be able to play in a regular season game IF (stressing if) his preseason performance is indicative of who he really is right now. I am in no way a believer in Kelvin Joseph playing CB for us in a real game this year but he has been better than Scott in the 2 preseason games this year. Again, don't take this as me saying Scott won't eventually be good because I think he may be and I don't judge guys off of a couple of preseason games in their rookie year and especially when we don't even know what scheme they were in for sure because there is always some confusion in the preseason. I'm just saying he hasn't been good in either of the two games we were able to watch.untrue. He wasn't great this week but awful is an exaggeration. I'm disappointed after all the camp accolades being sent his way. The reporters have been talking about him like he is this year's Deron Bland.. and he still may be. However he has not shown that to this point. How can you be "disappointed" in a 6th round pick?
This kind of sums up my thoughts also. I'm not in any way saying I'm unhappy with the pick. Personally, I don't expect much of anything from most 6th rounders in year one. I'm just saying I don't see where these glowing reviews he seems to have are coming from.I'm disappointed after all the camp accolades being sent his way. New information changed his mind perhaps?Weren’t you saying he was a “penalty waiting to happen”?
