I will define it as soon as one of the multiple apple products I own fails.

Hell, I dropped my iphone in the lake last weekend while duck hunting. It died for two days and then it dried out and fired up. I'm not saying other phones won't do the same, but I've had outstanding luck with their stuff.

Am I a "fanboy". No. Do I like everything they do? No. Do they make quality products? Yes.

Iphone 3's were extremely cheap phone. Be honest, how many screens have you cracked in your Iphone tenure? If your like ANY of the people I know, your probably on your 3rd or 4th Iphone since the screens break so easily(Iphone 3's at least, not sure about the 4's)

Plus they used to only be ATT phones, and you could do all of this wonderful stuff on them, yet when you needed it to act as a phone, you'd get dropped calls lol. Luckily Apple let Verizon and a bunch of others carry the Iphone.

I don't see why people are so "either/or" with technology. I've never had a Mac, always had a PC. But that doesn't mean I'll never consider one, if the price is right. I am however on board with Joseephus about not wanting to be "the first to get it". It seems like you get a better product if you wait a year or so, that way any bugs the programs have can be patched.

I swear to you I have never broken a screen. Nor has my wife or any of my kids. I'm on my 3rd iphone now. The first one I gave to my 5 year old son to use as an ipod touch. He treats it like any 5 year old treats things. Like hell. He is now pushing 8years old and the thing has never broken. Still works like the day I bought it.

My second iphone I gave to my other son when he was 4 (also to use as an ipod touch). He is now 6. Same thing. Never broken. And as you can imagine, he beats it like a rented mule as well.

I agree with trick blue. The stuff is just very well made.

Just last weekend I dropped my iphone 4 in the lake while duck hunting. It quit working for 2 full days. On the 3rd day it fired right up and works perfectly. Certainly that probably has more to do with luck than anything else, but I've had 2 other (non iphones) that got wet as well, and they never returned from the dead. Like I said, it is probably more luck based than anything, but as a consumer, I'm going to remember things like that when it is time to upgrade to a new phone.

I would expect that response to occur in PC people who are equally fanatical about their products as well.

I'd expect that response to occur when Dallas wins a football game or drafts a coveted player.

The word "huge" extends beyond the fanatical and into the general populace.

And is this really a reason to dislike a brand? Because other people like it for whatever reason they do?

I can't think of a single item I dislike because OTHER PEOPLE will swear by it and buy it.

The freakin thing just works - thats why I like Apple products - they got GREAT cost service, you go to their store and the ppl there actually know what they're doin...wow what a novel concept - make a good product that the company backs.

I don't know, all of my friends that had Iphone 3's went through 2-3 each. They cracked the screen, typically had it on their lap while driving, when they parked and got out of the car the phone would fall off their lap and the screen was destroyed. It happened to like 10-12 people I know lol.
