Things that I have learned

1. This team starts and stops with Tony Romo. We tried to get into a shootout with the Rams, except we didn't bring any bullets. The OL made mistakes, but Brad Johnson was abysmal. T.O. runs a 10 yard out rout and he throws a 10 yard in. Threw up wounded ducks all day long that even I could have picked off. Can you imagine what the Philly, Deadskin, and Arizona games would have looked like had BJ been under center? This extends all the way back to 2007, week 1 vs NYG, a 38-35 shootout. The Miracle at Buffalo. Beating Detroit last year on the road with :16 on the clock on our final drive. Romo engineered all that, and now we realize he's the same wonderkid we fell in love with in 2006.

2. Terrence Newman has been the unsung hero of our defense for years. We have to remember he played a craptacular game against Washington because he tried to play injured, because he's one of a handful of players on this team with HEART. He hasn't played since then, and proof of his absence is blatantly obvious. Our secondary is WORSE this year, because #41 increases our production 50%. This is the man who didn't allow a TD pass in 22 consecutive games. Pray he gets well, because he is THAT GOOD.

Last week was disappointing, but not unexpected. This week slammed home the fact this team is bursting at the seams, with Gomer Pyle for a head coach and a defensive coordinator that looks like he was plucked from the high school ranks.

I suggest you follow my lead and pray to God this team finds the heart and character to take responsibility and pull itself together, because this thing is approaching critical mass. If you are a person who watches ESPN or NFLN this week, then you have more cajones than I.

And pour another scotch.

That kind of player is known as an MVP. Its hard to do well without your MVP. Just ask the Patriots.

That's what I've been trying to tell all the TNew-bashers here.
