I feel old when I hear 80s songs playing on a classic rock station.
When I see childhood celebrity favorites dying.
I recently seen a picture of Tom Araya from Slayer holding his grand child.

Just posted in my Comics and Movies thread that DC Comics will charge $4.99 for its new Superman #1 issue. I can remember paying twenty cents for a #1 issue when I was a kid but I cannot recall the book title. My brain feels old too.

Things That Make You Feel Old

Was talking to my son a couple of days ago. He looked at the wall and said "Dad, what's this for?"

It was a phone jack he was pointing to.

The drinking age In NJ was 21 but in NY it was only 18. Since I lived close to the NY state border we used to drive to NY to go bar hopping when we were underage. In 1973, the year I turned 21, NJ lowered the drinking age to 18 because so many kids were driving across state lines to drink in NY.

When you see or hear something along the lines of this song or this movie is now this many years old or ago.

For example...when you see something in an article that says that Fast Times at Ridgemont High came out forty years ago.

Or Pink Floyds Dark side of the moon turns fifty this month.
I feel old when I read that about a band member in one of the bands I used to listen to just turn 78 or 80. Brian May of Queen is 75! Santana is 75 as well. Rod Stewart is 77. Even Huey Lewis is 72.

Short Round getting an Oscar and looking so old.

Watched that movie as a kid and dreamed about how cool it would be to go on an adventure with Indy.

Now I'm more along the lines "it's not the age honey, it's the mileage"

So true. At 43 I'm feeling so old at times... At some point I realized that there are less years ahead of me than ahead. I had a great life though so far... nothing to regret. I guess that's a good thing.

Greta Van Fleet makes me angry. Mostly because the singer denies that they’re influenced by Led Zeppelin.

It’s like bro. YOU ARE TRYING TO BE ROBERT PLANT. I can SEE them in concert. He acts exactly like Robert Plant, on purpose. I can SEE you.

Honestly, there are some songs in GFV first record that if you told me were a long lost Led Zeppelin song, I might believe you.

And it’s sad because they’re all good musicians. The production and performances of their music is all pretty good. The singer is really good.

But it’s all imitation.

This girl I have a crush on loves Greta van Fleet. And you know my story, I don’t have a whole lot of options. But I can’t help but think if that’s the **** she listens to, what kind of woman is this?

Being influenced by another artist is not a sin. Especially referring to a band like Led Zeppelin, who, let’s say, “borrowed” a lot of music from their blues and rock contemporaries.

I don’t even know what the point of this post was. Freaking Greta Van Fleet..
I thought I read that they started as a Zep tribute band.

I have seen pictures of them where the guitar player is playing a maroon SG, the drummer is on an orange Ludwig Vistalite kit and the singer is wearing a "blouse" and holding a classic Plante pose. That would be one hell of a coincidence.

Yep, and the Bozo triplets as well, to go along with that Ludwig Vistalite kit. Asides from the singer hamming Plant he does a decent voice. Just no Machismo.

It was an American.

You guys had some weird auto makers and at some point all your cars looked the same.

I know I know, blasphemy, being on an american forum and so on... couldn't resist though.

You guys? I'm American, Oldsmobile were some of the best cars ever made and a major brand for years. The best car I ever had was an Oldsmobile Cutlass. Damn fine vehicle.

They were fast too.
