that wr jalen tolbert is worth working on.

that if zack martin retires...they might already have the replacement...brock hoffman.

that cooper beebe has a bright furure anchoring our o-line.

that donovan wilson is still our best safety.

that osa odighizuwa has some serious pro bowl potential if we can keep him around.

that mazi smith has some life.

that rico dowdle has a say about our running game.

that micah is still the lion.

go☆cowboys.

Although I badly want a game-changing DT, there might not be one there when we pick, so I wouldn't have a problem with Jeanty or the top WR available.
If current DT's are resigned, get a youngster tough as steel and let learn immovable with the current group. Trash cans full of dirt don't all come in the top round.

Every year at the end of December, it can be a good practice to reflect on what you learned this past 365 days. It’s even more fun when reflecting on what we learned about the Dallas Cowboys in 2024. (Although some of it we’ve probably known for years!)

So here’s my list of the things we learned about the Cowboys in 2024, in no particular order of importance:
  • In January, 2024, we learned courtesy of the packers that the 2023 version of the Cowboys were not as good as we thought.
  • We learned that Jerry and Stephen Jones think Cowboys fans are stupid. Their absolutely false explanation (over and over) of “why we can’t afford any free agents” was so full of lies, it was almost comedic.
  • We learned that DeMarvion Overshown is the real deal. If he can ever get healthy and stay healthy, we have a defensive star.
  • We learned that Brandon Aubrey is clearly the best and most consistent player we have.
  • We learned Rico Dowdle is way better than Zeke Elliott, although our GM apparently hasn‘t seen that yet. (Almost any RB in the NFL at this point is significantly better than Zeke)
  • We learned that second year TE Luke Schoonmaker does indeed have a pulse.
  • We have been reminded again in 2024 that the Cowboys can beat bad teams but not so much the good ones.
  • We were reminded again after another bad sunlight moment that cost us a TD that Jerry Jones cares way more stadium aesthetics than he does about giving his team the best chance to win.
There are more for sure. So what did you learn about the Cowboys in 2024?
Things I learned by reading your post.
  • Cowboys fans are stupid or at least a few are.
  • The effect injuries can have on a season are underestimated.
  • Coach McCarthy isn't appreciated enough.
  • Never assume making the playoffs is granted.

I'm hoping that if we don't use the first-round pick on a DT, we use the second-rounder on one ... even if we re-sign Odighizuwa. But I don't necessarily think we need a trash can. I think we need a garbage truck. We've been drafting trash cans for years without a lot of success.

Although I don't know whose rankings are best to go by, Michigan's Mason Graham might be the only one worth our first-rounder, but Ohio State's Tyleik Williams, South Caroina's T.J. Sanders, Mississippi's Walter Nolen, Oregon's Derek Harmon, Texas' Alfred Collins and Kentucky's Deone Walker all could be taken in the early to mid-second. (Some of those may be projected by some to be first-rounders.)

Jerry may have made the biggest contract mistake of his tenure.

Cowboys are a circus not a football team

The owner is the biggest POC owner in sports and a complete football idiot

Mccarthy lied to get the Cowboys job for money

Dak and Diggs are only and only about money

Parsons is TO 2.0. A great player who is a media sponge and will never be worth what he will be paid

A lot of Cowboys fans (yes, even so called die hard ones) either dont pay attention or don’t understand winning football or have the intelligence of a 5th grader
not 1 lie told. :(

Good stuff here...I want a developed stubbornness that a guard just can't move and is mean. Oh, he'll work out.

We learned a team with proper management, devoid of onerous player contracts, in a good salary cap posture, and able to select a top quarterback in the draft can turn their fortunes around in a single off season. (Washington Commanders). And if the New York Giants pull off the same thing the Cowboys are a last place team in 2025.

We learned that the decrepit scumbag of an owner will threaten people's jobs for asking him hard questions, and for this fan, at least, turned me away from rooting for this team to succeed again under his watch. I will hope for things to be different under Stephen when he's gone because I don't feel he craves the spotlight like papa does and will hire real football people.

Maybe your butt.

I am not in your club you call "ours". And i doubt most here are.
So you aren't a Cowboys' fan? You're OK with all the non-fans laughing at us? They are different than the real fans that vent and talk crap, but are informed and want us to win.....oh, well....now I know.

I don't think there is a clue there unless this is presented as a butt tallier...

This is clearly the butts that Ranching refers to...

Nothing

The team is badly injured…the same excuse the media uses for SF should apply to Dal

You don’t win many games with this many key positions on IR
