Tomorrow night will be a classic. Can't wait for this one.I learned that people still love to hate the Cowboys. They can kiss our butts! Go Cowboys!!
Every year at the end of December, it can be a good practice to reflect on what you learned this past 365 days. It’s even more fun when reflecting on what we learned about the Dallas Cowboys in 2024. (Although some of it we’ve probably known for years!)
So here’s my list of the things we learned about the Cowboys in 2024, in no particular order of importance:
There are more for sure. So what did you learn about the Cowboys in 2024?
- In January, 2024, we learned courtesy of the packers that the 2023 version of the Cowboys were not as good as we thought.
- We learned that Jerry and Stephen Jones think Cowboys fans are stupid. Their absolutely false explanation (over and over) of “why we can’t afford any free agents” was so full of lies, it was almost comedic.
- We learned that DeMarvion Overshown is the real deal. If he can ever get healthy and stay healthy, we have a defensive star.
- We learned that Brandon Aubrey is clearly the best and most consistent player we have.
- We learned Rico Dowdle is way better than Zeke Elliott, although our GM apparently hasn‘t seen that yet. (Almost any RB in the NFL at this point is significantly better than Zeke)
- We learned that second year TE Luke Schoonmaker does indeed have a pulse.
- We have been reminded again in 2024 that the Cowboys can beat bad teams but not so much the good ones.
- We were reminded again after another bad sunlight moment that cost us a TD that Jerry Jones cares way more stadium aesthetics than he does about giving his team the best chance to win.
Dont feel ashamed. Most of us were schooled by Jerry about the right meaning.
I am so grateful to have him. The guy is so full of wisfdom. A fountain of knowledge. And never short to share.
Jerry is playing the "long game". You just watch.I learned that "All in" does not mean what I thought it meant.
Technically was last season but within this calendar year, I was finally broken…which opened my eyes. I’ve gotten to where you’ve been for some time.I can’t say I really learned anything. We are what I thought we are . It went pretty much as expected.
I think D.O.'s playing style is not conducive to a long career. Might be in combination with a fragile body?Every year at the end of December, it can be a good practice to reflect on what you learned this past 365 days. I would like this to be Post Of The year please.Technically was last season but within this calendar year, I was finally broken…which opened my eyes. I’ve gotten to where you’ve been for some time.
Denial lasted for years, even decades. Luckily the anger phase doesn’t appear to be very long, and apathy is setting in nicely.
I’ve been preaching for years that being good isn’t enough…you need to catch breaks as well.
Just about all that could be asked for went their way in 2023. Diggs aside, they were a very healthy team, albeit one with gaping holes in the defense ripe for exploitation, but no space to get into all that, and anyone reading this is already well aware. Philly collapsed and Dallas was basically handed the two seed.
I allowed it to creep into my brain that just somehow, just maaaybe, this is the year.
They then proceed to have the most embarrassing playoff blowout loss in team history. The first 2/7 loser under this format after being the first one seed to choke under the previous one, and actually repeated it.
Thats immediately followed up by the owner publicly crying, a statement released saying they are “close,” which implies they aren’t good enough, and then proceed to have the off-season that they did.
The two clowns running this thing are clearly not on the same page when one says “all in” and the other is like ‘whoa, no we aren’t.’
They have no idea what they are doing, misevaluate about everything possible, say the wrong things repeatedly, yet swear it’s a proven winning formula. There is no hope. None.
Why am I still here? Because I HATE that that’s the case and this is the forum to complain. Whoever doesn’t like it can find the ignore feature. It’s there.
Well said!! There is really no hope at all with them in charge. You already know before kickoff of week 1 they have no shot at all. Anyone who thinks otherwise is only fooling themselves. I get it as a fan you think there’s always a chance, not with this clown show. They’re nothing but a joke.Technically was last season but within this calendar year, I was finally broken…which opened my eyes. I’ve gotten to where you’ve been for some time.

Best player on D just had successful surgery!!!!!Parsons is their best player.
I was thinking the same thing. I love the speed and style of play, I just don’t see a long career for him. Hard to be that same guy after what he’s been through!I think D.O.'s playing style is not conducive to a long career. Might be in combination with a fragile body?
If he wants to survive he might have to be more mindful of "business decisions".

The team owner, a multi-billionaire in his 80s, shows up in Mobile for the Senior Bowl with a stopwatch around his neck.Well said!! There is really no hope at all with them in charge. And he refuses to see the problem. He actually thinks there isn’t one, that’s how intuitive he is as a GM. It’s just very sad at this point. The team owner, a multi-billionaire in his 80s, shows up in Mobile for the Senior Bowl with a stopwatch around his neck.
Embarrassing. I’d love to hear Jimmy Johnson’s off the record comment on that one lol.
This team is a toy to Jerry and a cash cow to the kid. Winning football isn’t part of the equation. Sure, they’d love to win, but it seems as if they know they don’t have to and won’t risk status quo.
Cowboys fans lose, while the rest of the league laughs and hopes it never changes.
